How often does the slug get compiled? Probably more than half of the times I've pushed code in the last 2 weeks, I've had the push rejected. While your slug is compiling you can't push a new update. If you disconnect after you push the code, but during slug compilation, the slug will still get compiled and your app updated. It should only take a few minutes. I've had it take several hours on a few occasions, as discussed in this other thread.
