Re: [HG] More Hurdy-Gurdies coming to Georgia
OK we came, we saw, we left. All in all it went pretty well. So John-Paul is a player, he has a Dugue. I didn't get to play it, but Gilles did, and he didn't look miserable about it... sounded OK, but then Gilles was playing it, so what did you expect. Tracie got to pet my Siorat. Actually I was doing quite a bit of running, back and forth, so I didn't get to watch her, apart from the occaisionally word of encouragement: "Don't be shy, play out!" as I ran past. Hope you got enough, Tracie? ..or am I going to have to drive back out there? and to everyone else: missed you a lot. Later, Roy

Glad you could confirm that, Vlad. I only had their promotional material to go on, and it looked like they had a hurdy-gurdy, either still or again. Tickets are selling very well. -- Tracie

Hi Alden, they had started out with Carlos Beceiro, back in the beginning, and for a while had no HG, then Rafa Martin had joined for a while. Now Carlos is back! cheers, vlad On 14 Oct 2006, at 0h54, Alden & Cali Hackmann wrote: Cool, Tracie! OOoo baby baby baby! I don't have my own yet -- I've only played borrowed gurdies -- but I've found one of the best ways to decide on harps is to try as many as possible and to talk to their people. Guess that's how I ended up with 7 harps. And that doesn't count the four I've sold through the years. Fortunately, hurdy-gurdies are, in general, easier than harps to schlep around. -- Tracie Original message >Date: Fri, 13 Oct 2006 00:42:20 -0700 (PDT) >From: Roy Trotter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: Re: [HG] More Hurdy-Gurdies coming to Georgia (was: Re: [HG] >Celticness and Arts funding...) >To: hg@hurdygurdy.com > > > >--- Tracie Brown <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > >> I plan to take some time off to go down to Georgia Southern for the >> h-g festivities -- it's about a 3-1/2 hour drive. Hello Tracie. FYI, I will be attending the HG festivities at GSU. I also think that Roy from Texas may be attending as well.
