[Histonet] Peggy Wenk

2014-07-28 Thread David Kemler
Peggy's last interview on HistoTalk www.histotalk.com was taped last year at
the NSH. During her interview, I stopped taping several times, because the
tears and my choking up were too much for me. Each time I stopped, Peggy smiled
at me and said 'It's Ok, Dave, it's OK".

It's a shame HistoTalk never got the recognition it truly deserved. Interviews
like Peggy's have meaning for everyone in the profession. Over the years,
HistoTalk has had a small group of champions - Peggy was one of them! God
bless. To "Mr. Peggy Wenk", May the Universal Power be within you and your
loved ones, now and always.

This is so very sad.

A great lady who will be missed by the international histotechnology community.

A knowledgeable and patient educator.

I hope we can live up to her memory and mirror her professionalism in our own

Let's make her proud of us.

It is my sad duty to tell you that Peggy Wenk passed away peacefully Saturday
morning. Her husband and companion of 37 years and her sister (from Bend,OR)
were there.

As you know Peggy had a large influence in the world of Histology.

She also put herself into her church serving over the years as a nursery school
director, Lay Eucharistic Minister and on the vestry.
She sang enthusiastically in the choir and played in the newly formed bell
choir.

Because of our love of books, we both volunteered at the local library.
We helped collect books, sort them and then helped to sell them; raising funds
for the library's use.

There will be two memorial services: one here in Michigan for all her local
family and coworkers, the second in southern California (a burial at sea). We
are asking that no flowers be sent; instead Peggy has specified (she and her
sister planned the funeral several months ago) three different charitable
organizations in lieu of flowers.

Dear Peggy,

Thank you for all you have done to shape the course and future of

2014-07-28 Thread Kelley, Amanda
Very sorry to hear about Peggy Wenk, she was a wonderful person, always willing
to help anybody. She was a great teacher, mentor and friend. She will be
missed. She will definitely hear " Well done my good and faithful servant".
Because that’s who she was, she was there to help. I can't tell you the number
of times I reached out and she was there with an extended hand. She told me
last year when she came to visit my booth that she thought this was going to be
her last NSH. I told her you don't know that, but I guess she knew better. RIP
my dear friend.

So very sorry to hear of Peggy's passing. She was such as inspiration to us

She will now be soaring with the eagles watching over everyone.

It is my sad duty to tell you that Peggy Wenk passed away peacefully Saturday
morning. Her husband and companion of 37 years and her sister (from Bend,OR)

As you know Peggy had a large influence in the world of Histology.

St. Mary's-in-the-Hills Episcopal Church (Peggy's church)

Shades of Pink Foundation (financial aid to local breast cancer patients)

Your request is quite odd. Are you looking for 5 "guys" to recommend or are you
looking for a good coverslipper?
This is not an issue of obtaining 5 "guys" with opinions; what if the 5 "guys"
advise you to buy the worst coverslipper?
I think you need to know the quality of the instrument first.
You should contact manufacturers and read specifications. Later you may select
2 and submit those 2 to find out which of the two, according with the histonet
"guys" is preferable.
I prefer Sakura.
There you have it: the opinion of one "guy"
