[Histonet] p16 dilution

2018-06-14 Thread Echague, Caren Ann - MGH via Histonet
Hi Histonetters,
Does any of you use p16 Cintec from Roche/Ventana? We wanted to dilute this
antibody but wasn't sure how much to dilute it to. Figured we could save a lot
by doing so. We have been staining our p16 with no current dilution. Any
suggestions will help. If there are any other vendors that offer p16 other
than Roche, that would be useful to know.
Thanks!

Re: [Histonet] CAP control revision

2018-06-14 Thread Terri Braud via Histonet
For all stains, we report the control verification on the patient report when
reporting the stain results, and we run negative tissue controls for our
organism stains, AFB and GMS

Hello Histonetters,
What is the take home message of this revision? How are other labs complying
with respect to Special staining? Do you keep records of individual case
control verification or just individual block verification? Does anyone run NEG
controls for Special staining? Is this regulation requiring Neg Controls for
special stains? Any thoughts are appreciated.

[Histonet] Tanner cryostat

2018-06-14 Thread Linda Margraf via Histonet
Here is a message I am posting for Bethany.

Does anyone know anything about these cryostats imported from Germany? It's the
Tanner TN50 cryostat. I'd like to hear from someone who has worked on one. We
are looking to purchase a new cryostat. I love the QS12 but the Tanner is
priced more reasonable. I can't find any reviews on this cryostat.

Thanks!
Bethany

[Histonet] IHC System from StatLab

2018-06-14 Thread Jeanine Ronkowski via Histonet
I’m pleased to report that I was finally contacted by a representative from
StatLab that provided me with the information I was seeking.  I realize that
their system may not be fully released, but I didn’t think it would be that
difficult for them to provide information.  Turns out that this instrument is
very similar to another manufacturer’s instrument that’s been on the market for
a while.J
