I am looking for anyone that is using CoPath Sunquest and using Dragon
software at gross and by the pathologist. Also what are you using for
hands-free dictation at gross and at sign out?

You can contact me offline if you wish.

[Histonet] IHC service ??

2011-08-01 Thread Inman, Anna
Can you tell me what kind of on-site technical service you are
accustomed to receiving from Ventana (especially if you NOT in a big
city so travel is required)? We have had a terrible time getting a
Field service engineer into our lab this year and wonder if that is the
norm for Ventana these days?

For the Dako users - what kind of service are you getting?

Thank you in advance

[Histonet] TTF-1

2011-07-14 Thread Inman, Anna
Is anyone using the SPT24 clone for TTF-1 using the Ultraview platform
on the Benchmark XT?

Our pathologists have read this clone is supposed to be more sensitive
than Ventana's 8G7G3/1 clone

Thank you

RE: [Histonet] High Complexity Testing

2011-02-08 Thread Inman, Anna
This is the response I received a year ago from CAP when asked the same
question regarding high complexity testing -

Immunohistochemistry staining (manual or automated) is
considered specimen processing and is not assigned a test complexity

Has something changed recently?

Sheila,

Yes, IHC/ISH is considered high complexity testing. Sounds like you
have a real gem for a pathologist...sorry to hear that. Just don't let
him/her pay you like a janitor just because that's what he/she thinks
that is what you are.

Hello All,

I would really appreciate it if anyone has information on whether
IHC/ISH

are considered high complexity testing for histotechs. Our pathologist

believes that ALL histology low complexity testing since a machine is

doing the work. Can anyone help me out with some guidelines,
literature,

etc. that says otherwise? I would really appreciate it. We just want
to

know which one it is.

Thanks so much Histoland!

[Histonet] validation of tissue processor

2010-11-02 Thread Inman, Anna
Hello Histoland

1. I am just curious what process is followed for validating a new
tissue processor?
2. Do you validate every IHC stain again or can you simply
re-validate a representative sample of IHC and be ok?

Thank you as always for your wealth of knowledge

 Keep in mind:

The requirement states 2 patient identifiers at the time of collection

- so the identifiers need to come from the outside entities.

My conversation with CAP - they are going for patient name, DOB, SS# or

medical record number of some sort that ties the hospital to the

clinician office.

If the case number or med record number does not get joined until it

reaches your facility - it does not meet the CAP requirement.

We are asking for patient name and DOB

Subject: [Histonet] CAP question

Hi everyone,

On the most recent CAP checklist there is a requirement for 2 patient

identifiers. For those labs who are CAP and receive all or a large

portion of their cases from outside facilities (=not from your

facility), what are you using as the identifiers on your specimen

containers? Name and birthdate? SS#? Med record? Something else?

Thank you in advance!
