[Histonet] Fw: DIF on formalin fixed process tissue

Subject: DIF on formalin fixed process tissue

Histonetters: I know the answer but it "never hurt's to ask"
Is there any means of salvaging a "DIF"tissue sample which was mistakenly
processed as formalin fixed tissue. Any tips, thoughts or ideas welcomed!
Last challenge before 44yr retirement 6/4/21 :)
Thank you in advance...

[Histonet] (no subject)

2020-02-10 Thread Maryann Deathridge via Histonet
Hello All-
We have a DRS 2000 slide stainer (new to us) in our laboratory. We are
staining only routine H slides. I am not sure we have optimal programmed
established. It seems to stain slower (even though) its double racks.
Does anyone have a routine H protocol (we use clarifier and bluing)
established that we could use? I'm thinking maybe we don't have the correct
icon (exact, infinity) by the correct component.
Any thoughts, ideas appreciated.
If anyone has any experience with this unit please contact me or send me an
email (madeathri...@pastnashville.com)

[Histonet] Bleach Regs

2019-01-31 Thread Maryann Deathridge via Histonet
Hello Histonetters!
Has anyone heard of a regulation by CAP, CLIA or OSHA regarding commercial
bleach stored under the laboratory sink. My lab routinely has a gallon
container of dated/ bio-labeled commercial bleach stored under the sink for
cleaning purposes. Daily use to clean special stain coplin jars,etc.. I had a
suspicious med tech tell my pathologist that is was against regulations to have
it in the lab anytime !

Responses welcomed.
Have an awesome Thursday!

Would appreciate any information.

[Histonet] cassette printers

2017-06-28 Thread Maryann Deathridge via Histonet
Histoland-
In the market for a cassette printer with barcode capabilities. Tape or
ink? Durability? I currently use the tape and never had issues with fading
/washing/non-readable. Have heard of some issues with the ink on some
units difficult to read esp. with barcodes.
 Thoughts???
 Thanks in advance to responders.

[Histonet] cassette printer

2016-02-25 Thread Maryann Deathridge via Histonet
Hi Histoland-
Looking for a refurbished cassette printer. Currently using the Shurmark
cassette printer. Prefer several hoppers for color cassettes, ability to
print on Activ-Flo cassettes and Simport cassettes with no issues. At this
point if it can just print.
Need something to get through till we make a decision on the complete
"system" (specimen tracking) for our lab.
 Thanks
