[Histonet] KNOWNPROTOCAL
I came in late on this discussion but we use this system and out Medical Director loves it and so does our clients. We have used this for other than just prostate. We have used it for breasts, skin bx, and gastric bx's so far. KnownProtocal takes care of all the paper work the billing and reimberses out lab for the time it takes us to collect the specimen and send it to them. So do not be so negative and you may just need their protocal some time. We are having problems again too. Have not changed a thing and convinced that it is a bad lot again. Wonder sometimes on the QC that is done on the paraffin. Connie G. The precipitate is almost muddy or oily in appearance. We noticed it immediately as it was melting, so there was no way anything else had been introduced to cause this. As a result, we are seeing knife marks. The marks are not consistent and not attributable to any of the tissue in the blocks. We are blasting through blades that have been tried and true for years now. Are there any other users of paraplast X-tra experiencing these issues? [Histonet] alarms on all the machines
The other day just about every machine in the lab decided to beep and alarm all at the same time. They all sound the same!!! The stainers in histo and cyto. The processors that they were done cleaning. The alarms on the freezers ( been open too long) Both of the Venatana IHC machines and special stain timers. Plus there was a truck backing up to the door to unload something and it to was beeping. So we were wondering since cell phones have all types of different rings and tones to them couldn't someone change the beeping to something else or give us a choice. Everyone decided that I should post this on the histo net to see what everyone else thought or maybe you guys that design these machines (yes they are all wonderfull) but gives us some more sound options. Just a thought! Okay, so what does everyone think about this? Connie _ Windows Live™ Hotmail®: Celebrate the moment with your favorite sports pics. [Histonet] Uneven H E Stain
We had the same problem. The xylene had nothing to do with it and thick and thin sections was one thing that we thought might be the problem. But when I destained and restained the same slides they stained the way they were supposed to . Finally we found that we had a problem with the wash stations of our sakura stainer. We had someone from sakaura come out and work on the machine and the staining has returned to what it is supposed to be. It seems when we have too many racks on the stainer this problem comes back intermitently, and sometimes we have to shut the machine down and turn it back on. Not sure exactly why this happens but if we follow this course of action our slides are staining correctly.
