[Histonet] FW: Primera Printer
From my manager Bernice Frederick HTL (ASCP) Senior Research Tech Pathology Core Facility ECOGPCO-RL Robert. H. Lurie Cancer Center Northwestern University 710 N Fairbanks Court Olson 8-421 Chicago,IL 60611 312-503-3723 b-freder...@northwestern.edumailto:b-freder...@northwestern.edu From: Herbert Skip Brown Sent: Tuesday, April 02, 2013 8:27 AM To: histonet-boun...@lists.utsouthwestern.edu Subject: Primera Printer Linda/Jennifer: We have just finished doing a thorough evaluation of the Primera Printer. I agree with Linda that it is a smart new system that prints very well in black white and/or color. We do large clinical trial projects that often require 100+ slide sectioning. The Primera Printer allows you to very easily go in and edit single slides out of a run in case data changes for one slide or there was a typo error by the user. Also and more importantly, the color feature is a tremendous asset to our Q.A. by being able to color code priority cases, individual hospitals or departments, and/or individual microtomists. From the use of color we can now reduce our slide cost by not having to buy various colored slides, and only buying the Epic white slides and print in color. The training was very hands-on via interactive on-line training through their technical support. We are just initiating the unit into our system.
