The Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment Malaysia is
organizing BioMalaysia 2002, to be held from 1 to 4 October 2002 at
PWTC, Kuala Lumpur. BioMalaysia 2002 is the first biotechnology event
to be held in Malaysia that comprises of seminars, business partnerships
and trade exhibition with immense participation from various countries
all over the world.
In conjunction with the event, the Ministry is holding a BIOMALAYSIA
2002 THEME & DESIGN COMPETITION. This idea was mooted by the Minister
for Science, Technology and the Environment who has been continuously
promoting and supporting S&T awareness amongst students.
We hereby invite all students to participate in the BIOMALAYSIA 2002
THEME & DESIGN COMPETITION. All entries are subject to the rules and
regulations set forth herewith.
The Competition: The competition is divided into two categories
The Theme Contest
The selected theme for the event will be utilized throughout the
promotion period and during the event.
The theme must not exceed 10 words.
The Stage Design Contest
The winning stage design will be used for the opening ceremony of
BioMalaysia. This ceremony will be graced by the Rt. Hon Prime Minister
of Malaysia at Dewan Merdeka, PWTC.
Entries submitted must be in the form of design concept only.
Objective : To create awareness of the event.
To inspire creative thinking among young Malaysians.
Duration :The period of the competition shall be from February 11
(proposed) - 5 March 2002 at 12 noon.
Participation :Entries can be from an individual and/or a team/group.
However, only one prize in each category will be awarded.
Entries :Entries must be submitted in English via e-mail only. The
organizers shall not be held responsible for entries lost through
e-mail. Proof of sending is not proof of entry. All entries will not
be returned.
Eligibility : Open to all Malaysian students aged 17 25 years old.
Selection criteria : All entries must be original. There shall be no
infringement upon either personal or intellectual proprietary rights.
The winner will be selected based on accuracy, originality, uniqueness
and creativity.
Prize : The Theme Contest
RM500 cash
The Design Contest
RM1000 cash
Winners will be notified through e-mail.
The organizer reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not
comply with the rules and regulations of the competition.
