MOSCOW. March 27 (Interfax-AVN) - More than 500
British and American soldiers were killed in Najaf and
Karbala, Iraq, on Wednesday and Thursday, Iraqi
Ambassador to Russia Abbas Khalaf said at a news
conference on Thursday.
"The total number of American and British losses in
this war have exceeded 700 casualties, not including
the wounded and POWs," the ambassador said.
He said that Iraqi troops have destroyed enemy
tanks, and a convoy of 40 support vehicles with food
and equipment was destroyed near Basra. Three unmanned
American planes were shot down in the Najaf skies on
Wednesday.
"We will destroy or take prisoner all the troopers
who come to us, no matter how many of them there are,"
the ambassador said.
