assalamu'alaikum... something to exercise the mind to provide it with
the necessary ingredients to "see" things happening around us more
critically and not to simply accept things as they are. we are in the
same situation as the chechens. those "sleeping" and not willing to rock
the boat are actually "dead".... wallahu 'alam. wassalam

Evidence that Russians planted 'Chechen' bombs

New evidence has emerged that the Russian intelligence service, the
Federal Security Service, was responsible for the bombing of Russian
apartment blocks in Moscow and other major cities last year, in which
scores of civilians were killed. The Russian
authorities blamed the bombings on Chechens and used them as a pretext
for their invasion.

Early in January, Chechens captured a FSB officer in Ichkeria who
revealed under interrogation that the bombings had been ordered by
Moscow. The video-tape was provided to the Independent newspaper in
London, which has subsequently been
investigating the bombings.

In an article published in January 27, the Independent revealed evidence
that a bomb discovered in an apartment block in the city of Ryazen,
south-east of Moscow, on September 23, had in fact been planted by the
FSB.

A resident of the apartment block told the Independent's reporter that
on the evening of September 23, her father, Alexei Kartofelnikov, had
noticed a vehicle in front of the building with three Russian men
behaving suspiciously. He telephoned the
police, who came and discovered a bomb in the basement. Residents were
evacuated in the middle of the night, and spent the night on a bus. They
were later told by the police that the bomb consisted of four sacks of
explosives and a timer set to go off at 5.30 in the morning. That same
day, Russia began its war in Chechenya.

The FSB later announced that the bomb had not been a bomb at all, but
four sacks of sugar planted as a 'training exercise'. Local people do
not believe this, saying that had that been the case, the false alarm
could have been announced immediately and
the residents of the flats allowed to return to their homes. No other
training exercises of this kind have been held anywhere else in Russia.

The local police also confirm that their investigations at the site had
found real explosives. A local telephone operator also told police that
she had heard a telephone call in which the caller had asked for advice
on how to get out of Ryazen "because all the stations were being
watched". The caller was told to make his own way out. The call was to
the FSB headquarters in Moscow.

Local people believe that the bomb was real and planted by the Russians.
This is concrete proof of the Russians' murderous tactics, even at the
cost of their own people. However, in view of the west's determination
not to intervene, the Independent reports are being ignored.
