Maka persidangan mendengar nasihat President Mesir, Hosni Mubarrak (kawan baik Dr Mahathir) supaya Israil diselamatkan agar ekonomi negara-negara Arab tidak terjejas. Satu persidangan badut-badut Arab. ======================================= Subject: IAP-Net: Palestinians disappointed by summit outcome Date: Sun, 22 Oct 2000 08:25:24 -0500 (CDT) From: Islamic Association For Palestine <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Assalamu'alaikum Palestinians disappointed by summit outcome Occupied Jerusalem: 22 October/00- Most Palestinians voiced profound disappointment and indignation at the outcome of the extraordinary Arab summit in Cairo. Ordinary Palestinians lambasted Arab leaders for "taking decisions aimed at appeasing Israel and the United States while utterly disregarding the feelings of the Arab masses." "We didn't expect them to do more than they did. Those leaders aren't answerable to their masses but to a distant master in the western hemisphere called the United States," said Anwar Abedeen, a taxi driver from al Khalil. He described the decisions of the summit as "reflecting their subservience to the US and not echoing the feelings and heart beatings of Arab and Muslim peoples." PA official Hisham Abdul Razeq, while lauding the summit decision to help the Palestinians financially, he dismissed the summit outcome as "disappointing and frustrating." "The Arab leaders didn't tell us what they would do if Israel flied in the face of everything they said and demanded." Meanwhile, in an initial reaction, Hamas labeled the summit decisions as "disappointing and much less than expected." However, an Islamist official in Gaza said the summit outcome wouldn't have a big impact on the intifada which he said would continue till "we deliver ourselves from the Israeli occupation." Israel has welcomed the summit outcome. The Zionist state-run radio quoted an official sources at the Prime Minister's office as saying that "wisdom prevailed at the Arab summit."
