[hlds] Bugs... STILL

2004-11-06 Thread Andrew R. Mitcham
A few of my customers are still experiencing an exploit in which a
player switches teams rapidly, causing lag and a few people to drop.
This is the quote from myg0t's website:

>>In the last CS:S Steam update, they patched the name change spam
crash. However, they did not fix the nade exploit. A new server crashing
bug has been discovered by face-

download tcrash.cfg: here
and put it in counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg

then bind as below:
bind "MWHEELUP" "exec tcrash.cfg; exec tcrash.cfg"
bind "MWHEELDOWN" "exec tcrash.cfg; exec tcrash.cfg"

teams must be even and not full for this one to work, and you must use
team 0, if you dont it will only let you do one team change, team 0
allows you to keep doing it non stop. just spam your mouse wheel up and
down.<<

Also, some customers are loosing RCON access after a few hours. It comes
back after a restart of the server, but I have to wait until 4 am when
they are empty. Anyone else experiencing these exploits/bugs?

Thanks,
Andrew Mitcham

eh guys,
Now that the SDK is out peoples have started work on custom maps.
For the life of me, I havent been able to get custom maps to transfer
from the server to the client.
All the sv_ vars which I can locate regarding downloads are enabled so
I'm guessing it's been disabled to prevent people from playing maps
built with the leak.
Anyways when can we expect resource propigation to be enabled?

Re: [hlds] Hyper Threading & HLDS/SRCDS

2004-11-06 Thread Ian mu
I'd say if you run multiple instances or other apps, its definitely
good. Not a lot of difference either way if its just a sole hlds,
srcds server thats running on the machine.

[hlds] Hyper Threading & HLDS/SRCDS

2004-11-06 Thread Skill
I am interested whether other admins enable or disable hyper threading
(www.intel.com/info/hyperthreading) on their servers and/or if someone
had bad experiences with HT.
I am still uncertain whether HT is good or bad for HLDS and SRCDS.
