Orange Box Engine:
- Fixed an exploit that allowed files to be uploaded to the server at arbitrary 
locations in the file system.
- Fixed a server crash caused by a client packet claiming to be an HLTV client 
when HLTV is disabled on the server
- Fixed a server crash caused by spoofing a client disconnect message
- Fixed a server crash caused by sending malformed reliable subchannel data
- Fixed a server crash related to unbounded settings on some convars

[hlds] Counter-Strike: Source Update Available

2009-08-25 Thread Jason Ruymen
An optional update for Counter-Strike: Source is now available.  Please run 
hldsupdatetool to receive it.  The specific changes include:

Engine:
- Fixed an exploit that allowed files to be uploaded to the server at arbitrary 
locations in the file system
- Fixed a server crash caused by a client packet claiming to be an HLTV client 
when HLTV is disabled on the server
- Fixed a server crash caused by spoofing a client disconnect message
- Fixed a server crash caused by sending malformed reliable subchannel data

Counter-Strike: Source:
- Novint Falcon support is now enabled by default

It updated properly, but it destroyed my srcds_run file. It seems the games
segfaults without a proper srcds_run. :(

How about VIP mode VALVe? Escape mode / assassination? More in-built  
code for other game modes such as climb and deathrun? Maybe even  
search and destroy game mode. Maybe multiple bombs?

How come I have hundreds of brilliant ideas in my head that could push  
CS beyond all the competition, but instead you decide to leave it to  
die? :(

The game has already outlived all of it's competition. It's 5 years old. I'd 
prefer they work on new things rather than try to prolong the death of an old

CSS gained popularity over the years from updates like they are doing with
TF2. They are hoping the same happens with TF2 and they will eventually stop
updating TF2 to make the next big game.
