Hum.
Was there not a link before which very easily subscribed you when you
installed the server with a gui?
Maybe since most of us use the console we all forgot how easy it really is
to subscribe.
It was either a link, or just even a box to mark to become a member I think.

But this was ages ago... Getting old...

Hey, be nice to the guy.

Valdecir:
(I take a wild guess you meant "how" instead of "now").
You make sure the power cable is connected to the socket in the wall and
your computer, then hit the "on" button often located in the front of your
computer.

Good luck!

SV: [hlds] Summary - Tickrate / FPS / Timer Resolution (WMP|PingBooster)

2005-09-09 Thread Ako
What tickrate are you running?
That didn’t make sense.

PS!
Lets move on to lesson number two in SMS-writing;
The same way we converted "you" into "u" we will now show you how to also
use numbers.
Try i.e. converting two, to or too into the number 2.

Example used in a sentence: 2 u m8. (see how we even got to use the number
"8" in this example.

I had the previous version of the HLDS server and decided to see if that
changes anything. Guess what?! IT DOES

I knew I wasn't crazy!! I replaced ONLY 2 DLL's that had changed. (I had to
replace them both because they are dependent on one another)

steamclient.dll
swds.dll

I restarted server and it shows up instantly!

Alfred, if you read this, please fix this! I will try to help you with any
other tests you need in order to fix it, but I will have to use the old
version until this is resolved. I am sure there are other people with this
problem. The DLL's don't have any version information but the file dates are
8/9/2005.

If anyone on this list needs or wants to try the older version DLL's let me
know and I will post a link here.

What occured just before you started having these problems? Was it just
updating srcds or updating windows? One possibility I see, although I'm
pretty new at this, is conflict of ports. Would switching to lan adjust the
ports utilized, so that the 2 servers in one box no longer conflict?
Because you pulled all the info to a new box and it worked, I don't think
theres anything wrong with your settings other than maybe you need to use
-sport or force separate ports in your command line. Just a though, good
luck.

SV: [hlds] Counter-Strike and Half-Life 1: Engine update

Ah, great!

VAC1 is gone ;)
Server takes 2 seconds to load compared to ages downloading that module from

Emne: [hlds] Counter-Strike and Half-Life 1: Engine update

We have released an update to Counter-Strike and the Half-Life 1:
Engine. Run the hldsupdatetool to get this update. If you run ANY server
that uses the Half-Life 1: Engine (i.e TFC, DMC, NS, DoD, etc) then you
should get this update.

This update enables VAC2 by default for all Half-Life 1: Engine
dedicated servers and fixes a couple potential exploits. To disable VAC
protection for your server add "-insecure" to the command line when you
run it.

The update also disables old style queries by default. To enable old
queries set "sv_enableoldqueries" to "1" (this is NOT recommended, if
you set this you will expose your server to a potential DDoS attack).

More details about this release can be found here:
http://www.steampowered.com/index.php?area=news&id=431

RE: [hlds] HLDS-CS:Source Config.

2005-01-07 Thread ako
Sorry I was not more clear in my mail.

I meant for the server as I try to state in my topic.
Right now I can't remember much of the commands at all, but some of them
was to turn off logging and turn it back on after I ran the ban lists,
stuff like that. I dont even see a default server.cfg after the install
anymore.
Thank you for any help.

PS! Thanks for the other answer with the client config as well :)
Good to know I can get my old config.
