RE: [OT] [hlds] Anyone know these players?

2004-09-06 Thread Bryon Hughes
I personally don't know any of these players but I have to agree that there
are too many people who loose and start screaming hackers. I had someone
call me a hacker the other day and I tell you right now. I do not have the
first idea where to get nor how to hack half-life. . . Hell I can barely run
my server. Anyways I told him... Look at the pings man mine is 66 yours is
300 so my reaction time is about 4x faster then yours. Anyways my point is
don't assume because someone is a sore looser that the other person is
automatically hacking.

Typically, if I don't have solid evidence that a player is cheating, I gauge
my actions based on the rest of the players.

What I mean is,... sometimes there will be 20 people in the server, and one
person comes in and goes 40-0. People start leaving, griping constantly,
and calling him a hacker.

He might not be hacking or cheating. He might very well be THAT good.
But if that player is so good he running the rest of my players off the
server, he's got to go.

112-0 is way over the top. My severs have n00bfest in the title, and
hackers come in there sometimes that don't go 112-0...

There is another system at www.clan-fate.com but there has been

These scores do seem highly improbable but not un-heard of in this
mod... The general consensus is that they are good at the game

The players most probably use scripts and exploit the million bugs
that are in the mod, this is what makes them incredibly fast and able
 players

The server also seems full of new players so I can't say that it
wasn't too hard to get those scores

If you are wanting a reason to have them banned, you could claim that
that where been un-sports man like :P

Usually doesn't go down too well though :P DarK

RE: [hlds] 3 PC Connections from the same Network [OT]

2004-08-27 Thread Bryon Hughes
Couple of things:

1. Why is this off topic? I thought that I was doing something incorrectly
with my server and needed to fix it. Isn't that what this forum is for?
Admins who are having issues with their server and to get them responded to?
BTW I really do appreciate the response. I am not bashing just trying to
figure out what the forum is for? I get This is very off-topic for this
list, but you can find the answer here: but its okay to personally attack
someone. Not sure but I think that one of these is more related to server
issues then the other. Just my two cents here, and I apologize if I have
broken the use of this forum.

2. Ryan, I am not sure what your reasons for bashing my kids are but I
really don't appreciate it. First and foremost its for my 18 Year old and
my 15 Year old more then it is my 7 8 year olds. As for your attitude I
find it hard to believe that ANY of my kids could behave close to as poorly
as you have just behaved. If you have issues with people's maturity level
maybe perhaps its not them that has the issue its you.

AMX Mod X v0.20 is not even out for anyone to get aside from beta
testers.

You should be using MetaMod v1.17.1 which is newer than the MetaModX
v1.17X3.

Okay I am having some serious issues getting AMX to play nicely and I
would like some help from you guys. I have installed AMX and MetaMOD
and see them both in the console when I use the META VERSION and META
LIST commands all the things that they say on www.amxmod.net should
show up shows up. Unfortunately I believe that they are made for CS
and I am running a DOD server. Basically I cannot get it to function
so that I can run my server. I try to mess with as little as possible

due to the fact that I am not very good at this yet. But my kids
would like a server they can all shoot each other on. Any help on
this would be greatly appreciated. If anyone has MSN or Yahoo
messenger and would like to take some time to pull their hair out with

my on a chat session let me know. Thanks.

Edit the motd.txt file so that there is only a single line of text: the
hyperlink that you'd like to be displayed.
