[hlds] Client crashes since last big update

Valve,

Just wanted to mention that since the last big Steam update for CS:Source, I
and many of my players have all had the game (client) crash on us at least
once a day.

I personally am running an Athlon64 2.2ghz with 1GB dual channel DDR3200 ram
on an ASUS mobo with an nVidia 6800GT (256mb) on WinXP SP2. I have *never*
had the game crash before on this rig, and I play CS:S on it daily.

Thanks for any help,

- CHiLLZ

I would love to download that booster util and give it a try, but the
download links on that page are broken.

Very Very Important Statement!
If you are running multiple servers per host then you need to watch your
CPU loading.
If you have not already tried this tiny little utility then you should
before you mess around with tickrate too much.
And you should see what results you can get using both!

The utility is called srcdsfpsbooster.
You can download it from http://www.noclans.com/downloads.htm

I still do not know who the C programmer is that wrote and compiled this
jewel.
It only has a few lines of code and does the trick to "unlock" the "fps".
And does so without any extra baggage.
If anyone know who the author is then tell me so I can put it in a
readme with the file.

Note: I run the booster as a service along with all the srcds servers
and teamspeak servers on my host using FireDaemon.
Firedaemon, IMHO, is well worth the money if you can swing it.
No more having to leave a user account logged in on your host to run a
dos console window.
(This is a security problem)

And when the host reboots, for whatever reason, all the services
automatically load up.

Now that you ask it, I have the same question.

RE: [hlds] Player List not updating correctly since update

2005-04-06 Thread Chillz Media
I can verify this. Players come and go but the scoreboard does not update
correctly. When I joined my server, the other players said I was showing up
as "Wayne" (one of the bots). I checked all my player settings and they were
just fine on my side.

Server: 166.70.133.132:27015

I just updated my server to version 30, and ever since then the in-game
player list does not update correctly. The first few seconds are OK after
the map changes, but after that player names change randomly. If you do a
status command at the console, it correctly lists the players.

Thanks,
