Re: [hlds] Hey everyone
'sok - this list caters for both HLDS and SRCDS (Windows only) I think running the update tool should sort you out ok then, just give us a ping again if you run into troubles... Dan Max Strzelecki wrote: Doh! I just realized that this is an HLDS mailing list, not Source. My apologies, I was having my terminologies confused, I do not in fact have HLDS at all, just SRCDS. Thanks for the great link, I will read through it. Is there perhaps a mailing list for SRCDS like this one? Re: [hlds] Hey everyone
Hi Max! I think the main problem you're experiencing is that you're using the wrong program!! ;) HLDS is the dedicated server for Half Life 1 based gamesfor HL2DM and Counterstrike Source you need SRCDS (Source Dedicated Server). You need to install that in a different directory structure from your HLDS install, otherwise things will go very wrong for you ;) Here's some info which might help you down the right path: http://www.srcds.com/db/engine.php?subaction=showfull&id=1097362093 Regards, Dan Max Strzelecki wrote: Hey guys, I'm a newcomer to this list and HL servers. I was trying to get some support from Valve, but I was directed here. It seems you guys are very knowledgable, so here's my question: I noticed there aren't that many HL2DM servers available, so I'm attempting to host my own. However, as soon as I start hlds, I get the "c:\program\gameinfo.txt" cannot be found" messege and the server quits. I googled this for a few hours, but I'm finding nothing helpful. I even tried copying the gameinfo.txt from my Steam folders, but to no avail. (The hlds Cstrike server works perfectly, so I know hlds works). Re: [hlds] Watching Src TV
So, mp_chattime 90 then? ;) Martin Otten wrote: No, not yet. The server has to wait changing the map until the broadcast is over. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Graham Robinson Sent: Tuesday, May 10, 2005 3:42 AM To: hlds@list.valvesoftware.com Subject: [hlds] Watching Src TV Hello all, I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. I was watching a clan match on SrcTV of Sars clan Vs Terra (UK) and getting impressed at how good the auto director was. The game was transmitted with a 90 second delay. However, near the end of the game the server cut off and loaded a new map. The reason was the server had loaded a new map and SrcTV doesn't take into account the delay. So I lost exactly 90 seconds of match. So is there any way that SrcTV can be made to delay the end of the map so that we can watch the ends of matches please? Obviously it doesn't make any difference to the demos being recorded but it spoils a live match. Re: [hlds] Re: lol so is alfred cool with the leak yesterday?
Alfred is "cool" with us using the new switch...insofar as it doesn't actually do anything apart from help Valve test connectivity. There is no anti-cheat code yet, that is being developed seperately and won't come on stream (steam? ;) until the next dev phase. Note that Alfred also warned us that enabling the switch would potentially DECREASE the number of players that were able to play on your server whilst potential connectivity issues are being ironed out. I got the impression today that Alfred responded with something that made me think that he is cool with it and appreciates the "new" beta testers. ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds . ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
