I think you can add -nobots to the commandline, but I'm not 100% so you may
want to search the list archives.

Subject: [hlds] Blocking/Limiting use of bots?

  Hi,

I was wondering if there's any way to stop customers using bots on their
CS:S servers from a GSP's standpoint. Currently we have a couple of
users who're running a few bots each, and it's hurting performance a
little- not critical as yet, but i'd like to be able to limit the number
  of bots per server.

  Cheers
  Alex.

I thought the same thing, turned out my filter wasn't set and it was
showing CS 1.6 servers too.

[hlds] Server Hardware

2005-02-22 Thread Dean Owen
Hello List,

I am considering hire/purchase on some server hardware to start a
small group of cs:s servers for my clan with colo. Plus maybe if there
is some spare capactity hire out game servers.

I am looking at this server:

http://www.pcwb.com/servlets/Catalogue?id=(459271)userid=shop=PCWBD

A summary of it:

HP ProLiant DL360 G3 - Rack - 1 x Xeon 2.8 GHz - RAM 512 MB - HD 2 x
36.4 GB - CD - LAN EN, Fast EN, Gigabit EN - Monitor : none - 1 U -
promo

1 x Intel Xeon 2.8 GHz Processor
rt arrow2 x 36.4 GB - hot swap - Ultra SCSI HDD
rt arrow512MB (installed) / 8GB (max) - DDR SDRAM

Two questions: Is this suitable for a gaming server? Roughly how many
games or slots would this be suitable for? (if windows/linux makes a
difference here, please let me know. I have win2k3 and freebsd
available)

I plan on adding at least another 512mb of ram.

Thanks for any help.

Ah of course, that makes sense.

Presuming 1GB, how many slots for CS:S would you estimate it can run well?

1GB of RAM definitely 2GB preferable

Redundant Powersupply since most colocates will give you 2 power
sources you need to plug into if that makes sense?
