Re: [hlds] Family Sharing Ban Bypass.
Unfortunately you don't understand the impact that gaming communities have on games. They extend the life of the game by providing a better gaming experience by keeping immature, filth filled jerks out of their communities. Console gaming can be a miserable experience, having to endure some of the moronic elemnt out there. Having the ability to block undesirables is a necessary part of running a community. Players want to come back to a community as they enjoy the experience, without having to worry about any of the garbage that is normally associated with gaming. Kyle is totally correct to ask for something to help the game continue. He is an excellent contributor to this community and only has a genuine interst in keeping the game fun to play. Fortunately, since you will be playing on your LAN with your friends, this should really not matter to you at all. So, TLDR; VALVe, add some way of differentiating between family sharing players. Please and thank you. --Dog On Thursday, October 17, 2013, Servergurl Gamer wrote: > SO basically you are such a ban happy badmin that even if someone is using > the steam family deal correctly you want to ban anyone associated with that > account. Re: [hlds] Team Fortress 2 Update Available
And of course, as with all TF2 updates, it broke a part of DoDS. It is beyond belief. This time, it's the flashlight causing client crashes. They turn on the flashlight and their client dies. A month or two ago, they removed the flames for ignited entities. Players would get ignited with no flames. Gets very depressing every time Jason announces a TF2 update. It's like "Oh Jeez...what the hell has broken now?" I appreciate that TF2 is way more important than DoDS. I understand it's fun and exciting to release new stuff for TF2. But please, please oh please can you figure out a way of removing DoDS from OB updates? Re: [hlds] dod:s server crash exploit
Do you have SourceMod? Try this script and see if helps. It counts up the number of times a player changes class. It kicks them if they go over that number. If they die, the count gets reset. It's in .sp format so you'll need to compile it (I'm sure you wouldn't want me to post an .smx without knowing what's in it...lol) CVARS sm_class_spam_max 8 maximum number of times a player can change class. I didn't post it in SM forums yet until we know this works. One caveat - it doesn't detect changing to the same class since the event is not fired when that happens. ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds

Re: [hlds] TF2/OB memory leak
We also find that when the servers begin to overload with memory, they often drop SourceMod settings. For example, on one server that had been running full for four days, no admins could get access. Peaks last night on various Windows servers from 450 - 650Mb... Had to reboot them all. ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
Re: [hlds] TF2/OB memory leak
Our 3 Windows servers have always increased in mem size ever since TF2 was released. Over a 24 hr period, they can go from the usual 220Mb to 700Mb...and then have to be restarted. The other 4 Linux TF2 servers, we haven't had any problems with. -Dog -TheVille.Org ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
