[hlds] CS:GO not initialising VAC

2013-05-31 Thread Felipe Fujihara
Hello guys,
This week something weird started to happen with me. I have a machine where I
host some CS, CSS and CSGO servers. They are running well, but when I create a
new CS:GO server it doesn't connect to VAC. I've tried to change IP/Port,
redownload all files again, but the problem is still on.
To check if it wasn't a connection issue, I created a new CSS server and it's
working fine. The problem only happens with new CS:GO servers. My old CS:GO
servers are all protected with VAC.
Look at the console's output: http://oi44.tinypic.com/9bmce8.jpg
It seems that server is starting with -insecure, but it's not, look at my
commandline C:\Felipe\srcds.exe -game csgo -console -nohltv -usercon +game_type
0 +game_mode 0 +maxplayers 12 +exec server.cfg +mapgroup mg_allclassic +map
de_dust2 -ip 189.1.171.23 -port 27265 -maxplayers_override 12
Any help? Thanks in advance! ___

2013-04-17 Thread Felipe Fujihara
For sure... My 10 slots CSS server has always ran using 100 MB, and now it's
200 MB... 100% of increase.
Still can't see any gain with SteamPipe, untill now only problems...

Well, I have installed a full clean up CSS Server, and it's using much more RAM
 than the old version... 10 slots without any plugin is using 180 MB.
Is it correct?

you need to use the new tool for that, and the old install you can dump (well,
your plugins and settings you can port over, but best is to start clean and add
all the crap again)

Do I have to make a new entire download of server files, or is it possible to
update the existing ones that i've downloaded with HLDSUpdateTool?
I'm trying to update, but server keeps messaging "out of date".

I've got the same messages...
There was a gameserver that I've tried to update and I received all this

[hlds] Windows vs Linux

2013-03-24 Thread Felipe Fujihara
Hello guys,
I have some Team Fortress 2, CSGO, CSS and CS servers running on a Windows 2008
R2 and I'm thinking about moving to Linux. There are many reasons for that,
like the monthly price paid for license and usage of resources.
But before moving, I would like your opinion for some questions. Can you help
me?
1) Linux servers use the same amount of CPU and Ram Memory?
2) Which one (Linux or Windows) provide the best performance for servers?
3) Which one is the best free version of Linux? I guess it's CentOS, right?
Thanks!   ___

I've checked using some ip whois, all of them are showing my IPs to Brazil.
This make no sense to be listed in US.

Is there any way to check if the Geolocation is working correctly?

I know some databases where IPs owned by European companies were mistakenly
labeled as European even though they were located in the US.

Re: [hlds] Internet Servers List Problems (CS 1.6)

2013-03-18 Thread Felipe Fujihara

Alfred,
Actually they're being listed, but on the wrong region. This happens only to CS
1.6 servers, as you can see in the result of the API.
"addr": "189.1.171.23:27085",   "gmsindex": 65534,
"appid": 10,"gamedir":
"cstrike",   "region": -1,
"secure": true, "lan": false,
"gameport": 27085,  "specport": 0
"addr": "189.1.171.23:27027",
"gmsindex": 65534,
"appid": 440,
"gamedir": "tf",
"region": 2,
"secure": true,
"lan": false,
"gameport": 27027,
"specport": 0

Why is this happening? Why "-1" value for region?

The region variable is no longer used and should be ignored, the list order is
now based upon a dynamic ip database lookup (and the same system that all those
 other games you listed use). Your server appears to be listing properly.

Thanks. Before watching this, I could see that my servers are no showing on the

Running this API, we can see some "region -1" only with cstrike:

"secure": true,

But I just checked, they are all with "sv_region 2" inside server.cfg

Use the following WebAPI call to dig into issues for your server:
http://api.steampowered.com/ISteamApps/GetServersAtAddress/v0001?addr=204.140.22.89&format=json
(change the addr= parameter to match your server).

Hello Guys,

I'm having a serious problem here. Any of my Counter Strike 1.6 servers can be
seen on the list of the game.

1) I've already updated all my game servers with SteamCMD

2) I've tried to stop all running server and download new files (vanilla) and
run only this

3) I've already updated steam client that is running on the same machine

But still got nothing working... I'm sure it's not firewall or connection
problems, since I have Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike Gloval Offensive,
Counter Strike Source and
 other games running and showing on the list.

When I start a CS 1.6 server, console tells me it's ok:

Connection to Steam servers successful.

VAC secure mode is activated.

I don't know what else can I do...

Thanks in advance.

Re: [hlds] Weird FPS drops and peaks

2013-02-28 Thread Felipe Fujihara

Yes, we have another TF2 server running on the same machine, and the FPS is
well stablished at 66.7. This server also runs with full players (24/24).
The server with FPS drops problem runs with 28 slots.

Well from the hardware side you guys seem powerful enough. Have you tried
installing another hl2 server and running a clean one to see if the fps drops
come back?

I'm not too experienced HL hosting, but what type of server are we talking

Shared?

So, anyone there?

Is this peak normal? Could it be related to the FPS drops? If not, what could

The server is on a Windows Server Environment and it's correctly updated. It
