I am NOT running hlstats, and mine times out.

Valve is aware of this, everyone who reads this has probably had it
happen. Valve said they don't have a timeframe on it. End of story.

Re: [hlds] [TF2] Timeouts on Mapchange

2009-01-01 Thread SakeFox
yeah that's what happens, the server never drops just hangs on map
changes. been a long going battle for a fix, but it will probably be a
while before we see one.
on your client you can change the timeout cvar (sv_timeout i think) to
60 seconds and you will 99% of the time connect back to the server
before the time is up although since no one else ups there timeout value
you will probably be in a dead server since most people think that the
server just crashed and goto a different one.

Re: [hlds] [TF2] Timeouts on Mapchange

2009-01-01 Thread Dustin Wyatt
Had this happen to me last night. Only me and one other guy on our TF2 server.

As soon as we got disconnected I connected to the server via RDP (Win
2k3 server) to check out the console. No error messages or anything.
It was like the console was just stuck. After a few more seconds the
console unstuck itself and continued on it's merry way...

It's a real problem. While valve has acknowledged this bug, they still haven't
offered a timeframe for a fix.

Any new developments on this one, Valve?

seems to happen to me once every few days... server locks up on map change,
doesn't respond, but after 30 or so seconds, it comes back to life.

I am on linux. Centos 5.2 64bit i believe
