2004-08-19 Thread hlds_linux
steam -command update -game Counter-Strike Source -dir hlds_l

That is from *nix, but its pretty much the same thing. You have to use
hldsupdatetool instead of steam though.

If you need help, just type hldsupdatetool. You will get a list of
everything that you need.

RE: [hlds] CS1.6 Map into Condition-Zero

2004-08-12 Thread Richard Welsh

[ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ]
actaully the answer is Yes. All maps from any cs version will work with CZ.
To get bots to work though, you do need a .nav file. Which can be done on
your computer or the server. There is a group of people in the steampowered
forums already do .nav's for custom and older maps. Not sure what thread
though.

Say you want to create a nav file for the map aim_headshot... I would
install the map and run the map... once the map is up and running I would
add a bot (bot_add). Within short time you will see a progress bar pop up
and the server/bot will go through several tasks to finally come up with a
nav file for you. Once the tasks are complete the server will restart and
voila... bots are configured for the map. Nav files can vary greatly in
size. For instance my de_piranesi_cz.nav file is nearly 3MB and one of my
smallest fy_marioland.nav is only 19KB. I hope this helps a little.

Once your server has been populated with a bot, the server/bot will go
through the throws and create the *.nav file. Be aware, the creation of
the
nav file is very CPU intensive and depending on your hardware resources
and
map complexity, it may take up to 5 minutes or more to complete.
Alternatively, you may find *.nav files for those maps on a custom map
site
 such as http://www.cs-maps.us/ Good Luck.
