RE: [hlds] Can't create TFC server
Alfred / All I know this problem is solved by setting sv_lan 1, but this has been going on since the last update and I almost cacked my pants. I was setting up a CS lan listen server, it got as far as loading the resources then kicked me back to the splash screen without error. So i took a look at the console and seen the message Steam account is in use at another location. Panic mode enabled, I thought someone had stolen my account and I was worried my account was gonna get VAC'd by whoever stole it. So I changed password + secret question, successfully which was wierd, if someone had stole it they would have changed the password. So I tried another account on another computer, same error message. Then I found out about the sv_lan 1 fixing it, so I set that and all was fine. While in the server, I set sv_lan 0, but I didn't get the messages saying Connection to steam servers successful Vac secure mode enabled, yet I did a status and the server was indeed in secure mode. When I terminated the listen server and created a new one, the map loaded with the VAC symbol then I had the same error, Steam account in use at another location So panic now over, its a feature of the program (bug). So thought I would just let everyone know about my findings, and perhaps it can be resolved in the upcoming update. [hlds] Can't create TFC server
This is a multi-part message in MIME format. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] I run a dedicated tfc server on its own machine. To test maps before I put them on the main server, I run tfc and create server from my computer (not the server). This will no longer work. When I start the server it gets as far as Validating game Resources and goes back to the tfc menu. Any ideas? [ Converted text/html to text/plain ] If it's a custom map you're trying to test, make sure you have all the needed files, such as .wads etc. Mine does the same thing if I am missing files, when just trying to play tfc.
