There are some UI issues at the moment, and a crash on exit that we are aware of. We are working on a patch to fix these issues, but wanted to get the system out sooner rather than later. I see no servers on the Server Browser and an updated server says it's out of date. A required update for Counter-Strike: Source Beta is now available. The specific changes include: - Fixed a memory leak in the dedicated server. - Fixed a problem that could cause the crosshair to expand briefly after the trigger is released. - Made crosshair scale independently of framerate, matching the old behavior at 100 fps. This does not affect actual recoil, fire rate, or spread - only the expansion of the crosshair. Added cl_legacy_crosshair, which defaults to the new behavior. - Made the crosshair for the Glock and Famas scale correctly upon firing in burst mode. - Removed ability to jump to inaccessible locations using grenades (flashboosting). Added sv_enableboost (defaulted to 0) for those who prefer to allow this behavior. - Fixed an issue with involving incorrect armor protection vs. grenade damage. I ask because a lot of the ppl in my clan think it's a really bad idea, as do I, and I would like to be able to opt out of the new system. I would imagine the default will be to activate it but most people will probably control it via server.cfg file anyways. -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Strangely enough I mentioned in another mail thread, we have a couple of win2k3 servers (mostly we have linux) and those have never had to have srcdsbooster or anything (just default install, no extra apps at all running) and run at 500fps (if fps_max is 600). Not sure why that is and others don't but happy to check any processes that someone may think is doing it and see if its running. I'm guessing that oddly enough if a way is found to increase fps it will hit the same problem though anyway and get the same bad performance (if thats the issue). We don't run 100tick any more so can't comment on cpu util for that, just 66. This is really odd. The problem is that system timer resolution can be changed once after OS was started and program does not really need to keep running after that so the list of processes won't help I'm afraid... Do you have ogswatcher or similar tool? I don't know what you guys did, but with this beta and/or the last engine update, performance has been greatly improved on the dual Xeon 2.8GHZ / 2.4 Linux kernel machine I'm running this on. Before this, the server would inexplicably use 99% with a mere 10 players, but a year or so before that it could handle up to 32 players just fine!
