I agree that it would be nice to have a confirmation message that you
were changing your email, and if the change wasn't warranted that you
would contact Steam's support. That would be nice to have...instead of
this silent stuff.

Jake E wrote:
Well, they could make it so that it says something like this:

 Dear ,
Your email associated with your Steam account has been changed. The changes
will activate in 24 hours. In case you did NOT change your account email,
please log-in to your Steam account at steamcommunity.com and change your
email back to what it was, and then change your password.

 Thanks for using Steam,
 Valve Co.

You can't have a link right in the email, because then if you got your email
hacked they could really screw up your Steam account.

 Subject: [hlds] New Scam Website

There have been a few people from my community who have been hit by a
new phising website meant to steal Steam accounts. I've received a few
messages from random people with a link to the website, and a few
messages from people on my friends list. I posted an announcement for my
Steam group and on my forums, but I thought I should also post about it
here. The current site that seems to be spreading around is this one:

 http://steamcommunity-news.co.cc/

Again, DO NOT LOG IN TO THAT SITE. I thought this would be the best way
to spread awareness to the server admins and Valve. Warn your users
about sites like this, and tell them to never trust a website unless
they know what it is, even if it's a good friend that they're getting
 the message from.

There is a lot of these sites and there will be many more.

Just send it to valve and maybe they can block it from the chats or
something. No need to spread awareness or anything like that about
this particular site, just like cheats its an ongoing battle that will
never be completely won.

In the future, there are two better things you can do than posting the link
here. Even with your warning, there will be people who will click on this
anyway and login.

1. Report the site to Steam Support
https://support.steampowered.com/newticket.php

2. If you use Firefox, click HelpReport Web Forgery... I'm not sure if
there is an option like this in other browsers, but there is in Firefox.

Or do like me and some people in my community do. Goto the site and login
with fake information. Flood them with no good logins and they will
eventually get tired of looking through them. Especially if we can get at
least a couple hundred people on it.
