Re: [hlds] New Scam Website
I agree that it would be nice to have a confirmation message that you were changing your email, and if the change wasn't warranted that you would contact Steam's support. That would be nice to have...instead of this silent stuff. Jake E wrote: Well, they could make it so that it says something like this: Dear , Your email associated with your Steam account has been changed. The changes will activate in 24 hours. In case you did NOT change your account email, please log-in to your Steam account at steamcommunity.com and change your email back to what it was, and then change your password. Thanks for using Steam, Valve Co. You can't have a link right in the email, because then if you got your email hacked they could really screw up your Steam account. Re: [hlds] New Scam Website
There is a lot of these sites and there will be many more. Just send it to valve and maybe they can block it from the chats or something. No need to spread awareness or anything like that about this particular site, just like cheats its an ongoing battle that will never be completely won. Re: [hlds] New Scam Website
In the future, there are two better things you can do than posting the link here. Even with your warning, there will be people who will click on this anyway and login. 1. Report the site to Steam Support https://support.steampowered.com/newticket.php 2. If you use Firefox, click HelpReport Web Forgery... I'm not sure if there is an option like this in other browsers, but there is in Firefox. -Richard Eid On Thu, Oct 16, 2008 at 8:02 PM, bl4nk [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: There have been a few people from my community who have been hit by a new phising website meant to steal Steam accounts. Eh..sorry for the two e-mails. Don't worry about reporting this particular site using the two methods I detailed. I've done both of them already. ;) -Richard Eid On Thu, Oct 16, 2008 at 9:00 PM, Richard Eid [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: In the future, there are two better things you can do than posting the link here. Or do like me and some people in my community do. Goto the site and login with fake information. Flood them with no good logins and they will eventually get tired of looking through them. Especially if we can get at least a couple hundred people on it. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Donnie Newlove Sent: Thursday, October 16, 2008 7:23 PM To: Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list Subject: Re: [hlds] New Scam Website There is a lot of these sites and there will be many more.
