RE: [hlds] Server not showing up on network
The issue in Dallas has been affecting anyone under car4-1 and we have had to relocate our VoIP clients to another network in Chicago and cancel that server while demaining a 100% reimbursement of our fees per the 100% SLA coving that machine. In your hosting future I would suggest you use pingplotter when you have glitches that are hard to explain that are related to network connectivity. I wish you the best using their network but we were affected late last year when car11 had these same type issues. If you want cheap machines then TP/SM is the way to go...if you want stable networks then I'd look elsewhere. Remember the golden rule"you get what you pay for". Just for the record...we still have several machines in their network, we just can't host our critical services there any longer. GL to all affected...42 hours into the issue with no resolution. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of [GS]BeNt Sent: Sunday, August 21, 2005 2:41 AM To: hlds@list.valvesoftware.com Subject: Re: [hlds] Server not showing up on network Ok update. For alittle background I am hosted at The Planet out of Dallas Texas. What occured just before you started having these problems? Was it just updating srcds or updating windows? One possibility I see, although I'm pretty new at this, is conflict of ports. RE: [hlds] Server not showing up on network
It say's it is connecting to the Steam servers... No errors at all during any phase of anything.. But like clockwork if I enter sv_lan 1 then sv_lan 0 in the Console it shows up instantly That kind of rules out any connectivity issues. People are playing on it as I type... Confusing, isn't it? If it were a Windows issue why would toggling sv_lan have any effect? I even tried starting with a standard map. It executes them, I can see the output in the console but this method has no effect on the server showing up outside. Another thing I noticed is when this happens the log files are truncated.
