Re: [hlds] Source Engine and Counter-Strike: Source update

2005-03-27 Thread Kevin Cantrell
Sorry some how part of my post got deleted before I
hit send. I meant that the only time I have problems
with the update overwriting my MOTD file is when I use
the verify_all.

But I stuck my foot in my mouth. I went and checked my
servers, and sure enough all of my custom MOTD files
where overwritten. I don't use the verify_all command,
and it DID overwrite mine as well. so your not the
only one who had this problem.

ps. Can someone tell me the correct way to reply to
threads. my replies always start out as a new thread.

This is my bat file

hldsupdatetool -command update -game Counter-Strike
Source -dir
C:\cssserver -username mediaguy2 -password c*
-remember_password

Do you mean that this time was the only time it
overwrote your MOTD or
that the time you used verify all was the only time it
overwrote it?

Gmail slots your email in the right place in the conversation. Maybe
Yahoo thinks that anything that you write is worthy of a new
conversation thread.

To be honest I can't wait for Microsoft to pick up on this
conversation thread idea. A mailing list in Outlook is horrid but in
Gmail it is wonderful.

I don't know whether this always happens and I haven't noticed it before...

But I have noticed that the source update replaces my MOTD with the
default one. Wouldn't it be more logical that this be one of the files
that is left, the same way that autoexec, mapcycle, etc. are just
left?

do you have -verify_all in your command line for the
hldsupdatetool???

The only time I noticed that it overwrote my motd.txt
