just random bugs I imagine, those messages mean it was trying to read
from memory that doesn't belong to it I believe. Or rather, trying to
read data from memory addresses that are outside of the ranges that it
has allocated to store data. The debug info might contain some useful
info for the developers.

Re: [hlds] srcds.exe - Application Error

2005-06-01 Thread Ook
oh oh oh, I missed a lot of this conversationbutbots and custom maps
are BAD NEWS. I have run a lot of custom maps for years, and I can also
attest that about 1/3 to 1/2 or so my my custom maps (which is about
300-600 maps) will crash with bots. I used botmans bots, which I like, but
just had too many crashing problems. I've use rho-bots and the bots on OZ,
same problems. Crash city.

What I finally had to do was to load up my mapcycle with several hundred
maps and run the server. Each time the server crashed, I removed that map
from the mapcycle. Eventually I had a set of maps that were 100% stable. No
more crashes.

Please not that this occured with HL1, not srcds, but I would not be
surprised to find that Source has the same problem :(
