RE: [hlds] CS 1.6 on LAN ONLY
Just make sure all the clients steam are up to date and that none of them are logged out. When starting steam without an internet connection, it will ask you if you want to start in Offline Mode. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of CyberGameZone.com Sent: Tuesday, October 26, 2004 2:36 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [hlds] CS 1.6 on LAN ONLY -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Hi all. Been while for this question and I feel like a noob asking it. I know when CS 1.6 was out for AWHILE and you wanted to play it on LAN, you needed the lan crack/file (Yes-I already emailed Erik one time advising). Well, I know that no longer works. How can you play CS 1.6 on a LAN without Internet access now? I know about in the server.cfg to change the sv_lan But is there a certain server DL for LAN only? Also I verified about LAN licensing and its ok if everyone owns the CD Key. Thank you kindly. -DOA YIM: cybergamezone2002 Gaming Website: http://www.cybergamezone.com My League: http://league.cybergamezone.com Hotwheels Website: http://store.cybergamezone.com Gaming Clan Website: http://www.cybergamezone.net - Do you Yahoo!? -- [ Picked text/plain from multipart/alternative ] Now that is Client side. Do I need to do anything special on the dedicated server side? Certain DL? Or will the sv_lan just work? -DOA spartibus [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Just make sure all the clients steam are up to date and that none of them are logged out. CyberGameZone.com wrote: Do I need to do anything special on the dedicated server side? Certain DL? Just use some parameters on startup: -nomaster -insecure +sv_lan 1 Throw those on your normal startup and you should be good to go. I'd highly recommend some sort of emergency dialup for when someone inevitably loses their Steam auth. Happened a couple times at our lan, and a 50' telephone cable going through a laptop with internet sharing turned on was enough to solve the 2 cases where it happened. -- ironchef http://www.dexworld.org/ ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
