RE: [hlds] Day of Defeat: Source server preload

2005-09-26 Thread Themmes, Kent
This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

okay,

I tried the update, you posted below. I watch it verifying the files below,

it then does the following

Verifying: .\bin\datacache_i486.so
Verifying: .\bin\dedicated_amd.so
Verifying: .\bin\dedicated_i486.so
Verifying: .\bin\dedicated_i686.so
Verifying: .\bin\engine_amd.so
Downloading: .\bin\engine_amd.so
Could not open file .\bin\engine_amd.so

I would assume that that last bit about fail to opne engine_amd.so would be
the cause of the problem

I can try putting a command line to start the server with, but it gives me an
error that their is no such directory, even though the DoD folder and files are
on our server

Any suggestions would be appreciated

-Kent

What You need to do is this:

Win32:
hldsupdatetool -command update -game dods

Linux(in the right directory):

./steam -command update -game dods

Then once that is done, do the command line what other people said.

Hope this helps!!
