Re: [hlds] Left 4 Dead 2 Dedicated Server Available

2009-11-17 Thread Brandon R. Miller
Is L4D2 supposed to match players to servers in other regions? We put up
20 servers in Europe and 90% of the players have 150-200+ ping, I traced
roughly 10 of the IP's and all of them are from the US. The sv_region is
set to 3.

mikeblas: We've found a crashing bug at the last moment.
mikeblas: We think it's fixed, but aren't sure, and are testing.
mikeblas: We'll release the game when we're sure we have a fix.

2009-11-16 Thread Aaron Rapp
I have the servers up and running but no connections. I just want to confirm
(as I haven't setup servers in a while) that it is because they have
released the client yet. Is this correct?

Sorry about the double post. That makes things a little better.

I have to say...there's a lot of confusion on the community sides. I'm
telling everyone that the servers are up and they're scrambling to make sure
it has or has not been released to the clients...lol

I've never had a problem with HLSW getting info from Linux servers.
However I've never gotten rcon response from the server, which is more
of a problem for me than HLSW working or not (I rarely use it

Re: [hlds] Left 4 Dead 2 Dedicated Server Available

2009-11-16 Thread Brian Stolz
Anyone notice that the srcds_linux process is using significantly more
memory than a srcds_i486 l4d process did? I'm seeing 134.7MB used
with 0 users connected, where as the original l4d is using about 6MB

I wonder if it is because they forgot to remove it, or because they

Sorry, should've explained more. Yes, sending the RCON command to the

Sorry, it's late. Wasn't expecting the release to actually happen tonight ;)
