Re: [hlds_linux] re 1.6 shield
I just witnessed the rifle/shield exploit again. I didn't see the bug fix listed on last release, so I assume still working on it. Player would switch between pistol with shield and his ak47. Thought I would report it, just in case they thought it was fixed. - Original Message - From: Kevin J. how can you say that? you act as if any other game company has done as much over such a long time for any of their games, not charging a dime more to the players who bought the original game u. no one? I can say that, because I have been running a CS server for over 3 years. I have also run battlefield 1942 and Unreal Tournament servers, so I think I have some firm ground from which to speak from. also, whats the point of turning off auto update, when clients cant, and will therefor not be able to continue playing on your servers? They would not be able to play on the servers if they crashed, either. And for an established community like mine, the clients (my players) would wait patiently for me to upgrade my server manually. ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
Re: [hlds_linux] Various Issues of beta 1.6 the game.
Indeed all though I like the idea I must say we worried about the issues that steam may present. As it stands we will be manually updating our dev server testing and then rolling out to our live machines. This way we can: 1. detect issues before they affect the business 2. rollback to previous versions if an issue is detected after roll out to live machines.
