out (IIRC I played an early version of cs_assault, back when dropped
weapons looked like Gordon's RPG packs), and I couldn't get the hang of
it and didn't like the general gameplay (was a TFCer at the time), so I
dropped it.  Having forgotten all about it, I picked it up again when I
saw a news post somewhere about b6 being released.  Tried it, loved it,
stuck with it :)  Point is, there was no shrapnel when I played it for
real...

[hlds_linux] hl2mp - Bad pstudiohdr

My hl2 server has twice done this to me.  I saw people connecting but
wasn't able to try and connect myself to see if the connection could be
completed.  The console seems respnsive still, but CPU usage is out the
roof and it spams this a ton:

Afaik it's a feature that if you get hit it causes damage.

I also think If you get hit by a barrel on dust from someone throwing an he
grenade at it that can also cause damage.

Its all about the realism!!!

I think he means the pidfile of the srcds_run.  -pidfile drops the pid
for the srcds_i486.. if you kill this, the server just restarts.  I
suppose you could disable this, but you'd want to make sure it's wrapped
properly to restart on the occasional crash.

noticed that if you tag someone directly with a FB or smoke, it'll

Flashbangs I think do 1-2 damage if they go off directly below a player.
So if the player is extremely low on health yeah a FB will kill him.

Yup. Smoke grenades do as well (smokegrenade_projectile).
They take 1ap or 1hp off if you're physically hit by them.

frags we have actually almost 20 kills from flash.. so it even kills

these scripts works for cs aswell as cs:s and tfc, just change a few
lines where appropriate
i suppose you could add a "sudo -u halflife /home/halflife/startup" line
to /etc/rc.d/rc.local to have it automatically start after reboots.
(the only thing missing, with CS:S locking up the rcon ports, i've been
meaning to put in a longer sleep timer, but that requires recalculating
the other timers which i havent gotten around to. and -restart no doesnt

They eat a lot of RAM. These servers will eventually crash and start over
again. There is some memory leaks there... The csservers are running Manip
Admin Plugin. hl2mp is default install. These are running on Dual Xeon
2.4GHz. So you probably can squeeze in 3 14 player servers on that
hardware.

You do not need hardware controller to set up whole linux installation on raid
5 array; only hot-swap capable sata controler or scsi hot-swap drives & logic
(casing containing bus separation logic).
