Re: [hlds_linux] Set local time in HLDS or SRCDS

2005-04-01 Thread Jean-Francois Courteau
Hello again,

I finally found a solution to my timezone problem...

The file /etc/localtime was missing in my chroot jail, it is needed to display
the timestamps using the local timezone.

I just copied to file in the jail and now it works.

Thanks to everyone who replied.

tzselect is a script. A quick inspection shows that it depends on files in
/usr/share/zoneinfo.

Re: [hlds_linux] Set local time in HLDS or SRCDS

2005-04-01 Thread Jean-Francois Courteau
Hello again,

I found out that my time zone problem is related to the environment
inside the chroot jail i'm using to run the game.

When I run the same gameserver out of the chroot jail the time is
display correctly with EST time zone.

It seems that some env variables are not set properly in the jail...

I tried using the tzselect utility to get the variable I need to set.
I added the following to the env variables in the jail:

TZ='America/Montreal'; export TZ

I start hlds in the jail and I still get time in UTC.

Do I need to set something else or add system files in my jail for it to work?

Anyone can help?

Thanks a lot.

[hlds_linux] pre-match and spectate cvar's in HL2DM

2005-04-01 Thread Phoenix
This is a multi-part message in MIME format.

Does anyone know of anyway to enable prematch or enabling spectators in HL2DM?
How about least the ability to be able to select your team on joining instead
of being autoassigned?

If not I hope these can be added soon. It is a real pain in the @ss to start a
match now, it is a mess first getting everyone on their correct teams, and then
making sure the scores are even before you can begin.

Thanks

Linux stores times in the filesystem in UTC. (Since in a system networked
to the globe, that's the only universal time that makes sense for all
viewers.) The program used to show a file's time converts it to local.
What
are you using to display the timestamp? ls?
