Re: [hlds_linux] srcds help rcon not working

2005-06-08 Thread Andrew Armstrong
I would have said your map name had a typo too, maybe you shouldnt knock
back people so fast...

Whats the error message you get?

Also, make sure rcon_address is set to "" when you join your server, so it
tries to connect to the server your currently playing on.

Well wow you spotted a typo. Anyway always a good thing to make other people
laugh.
That typo is not present in the command line I use.
(As you can read, I can connect to the server. Which must mean that I
spelled correctly or that I have a map called de_aztex)

Thx for the reply!

Unfortunately that didn't help.

Here is my commandline:

+map de_aztex + maxplayers 16 -autoupdate -noipx -tos

Any other suggestions?

Not to my knowledge. If you find a way then you might seriously
consider reporting Bugtraq what you did because the only way I could
think of would be a security hole.

Well a simple perl script could do it, or if you don't like perl (how
could you not like perl?)
you could make a shell script that does the following:

#!/bin/sh
unalias mv # in case it aliased to ask if you want to overwrite files
cat /etc/init.d/rc.local | grep -v 27015 > /etc/init.d/rc.local.temp
mv /etc/init.d/rc.local.temp /etc/init.d/rc.local

[hlds_linux] Multiuser

2005-06-08 Thread Andreas Kang
Anyone where can solve my problem?

I want to give several admins access to our CS boxes, but I do not want them
all to have the same login account. That way I wont have any control of who did
what if you know what I mean. I added 2 users with name kang and entak, and I
have added them in the same group cs.

When I run the command " ps -g cs " I can see alle the prossesses from the user
kang and the user entak. But when I am the user entak and want to kill the user
kang's prosses I get promission denied.

Is there a way to make this happened without the sudo command..

?

And my second question

I have made a script that updates my autostart script its like this:

Echo "./start 27015" >> /etc/init.d/rc.local

It works fine, it adds the line ./start 27015 at the bottom of the rc.local
file, but is there a way to remove the line when I want to kill the server?

For instance remove all lines with 27015 in it?

Regards Andreas

I confirm this. sv_enableoldqueries have little effect on my server. My

HLSW is a bigger problem since i use a older player database format.
That format won't work with newer version of HLSW. So if i upgrade HLSW

Does anybody know how to convert the database?

The 64-bit binaries do not support the new VAC system at this time. We
plan to release 64-bit support in the future but I don't have a firm
timetable. In the meantime you can run the 32-bit binaries, or keep
running the 64-bit binaries on the current VAC system.

Re: [hlds_linux] Steam Update Tool - Core Dump?

2005-06-08 Thread e-Plutonia
The update tool gets its own latest version, everything is fine with
the linux base, oh and I have a quick question for Alfred or whoever
may know this, when someone "rcon quit" 's the server in HLDS, it
seems to use a different method than SRCDS, because the script does in
fact function on HLDS in FreeBSD, verses SRCDS which doesn't. And I am
in the process of getting new boards shipped , if this in fact solves
the problem, I'll post both boards so we can go through and figure it
out.

[hlds_linux] 64 Bit and Recent HL1 Update

2005-06-08 Thread Matthew Lehner
I didn't notice this at first, but after a few clients came on and
complained their server wasn't updated when I assured then it was I
went ahead and checked this out some more. It seems that the amd64
files where not updated in the latest release. Particularly the
engine_amd64.so which was updated for all other archs.

Verifying: core_i386.so
Downloading: engine_amd.so
Verifying: engine_amd64.so
Downloading: engine_i486.so
Downloading: engine_i686.so

Basically the clients have said that the new VAC 'welcome' message
they have seen on other servers from other companies, they do not see
on ours. Besides the above log of the update process, that is all I
have to base this off of. So I will ask: Am I a mistaken and there is
something else wrong with ALL of my 64bit servers, or was amd64 not
included in the recent update. Since the majority of my machines are
currently running the 64bit binary, I need to resolve this problem.
Any and all help will be appreciated.

Hi Alfred or anyone who knows :)

I have a firewall and want to block all ports that I can, since we are being
dosed all the time from hackers.

So witch port does CS need in order to work probably?

I believe just opening for the actual port is not going to work?

Could we ask an option like -steamport for HL1?

Thank you,

Re: [hlds_linux] The update broke HLSW?

2005-06-08 Thread Ben Daniels

it added the new query code for source yes, but it hasn't been put in for
1.6 yet. You'll probably find there's an alpha released sometime this
evening for it.

Since some weeks, HLSW is out with beta 42, fixing that timeout bug.

Since the update HLSW reports a timeout on my server(CS1.6 AMXMODX v1.01,
MM
1.17.4). Connections through the Steam games browser work fine and the
game
seems to be playable as always. Even that new VAC warning message at the
bottom of the recources loading dialog window shows up.
Is anyone alse experiencing this?

Tom

Re: [hlds_linux] The update broke HLSW?

2005-06-08 Thread PiTaGoRaS
version 1.0.0.42 doesn't fully work with the new queries for HLDS, not even
with sv_enableoldqueries 1

Alfred should have warned hlsw devs first...
