[hlds_linux] Question

2007-04-12 Thread Saint K.

Hi,

I'm trying to find out why my CS servers take up such an amount of memory.
When i do ps aux, i see that every proccess from hlds is displayed 3 times,
2 times without any CPU useages, but 3 times with MEM usegage. Can any one
explain why it does this? 2GB for 3 empty and 1 full server is rather much
imo.

server4 23163 12.1 7.4 172120 155292 pts/1 RApr11 180:59
./hlds_amd -game cstrike -noipx +ip 85.17.60.96 +port 27045 +maxplayers 26
+map de_dust2_noads
server4 23164 0.0 7.4 172120 155292 pts/1 SApr11 0:00
./hlds_amd -game cstrike -noipx +ip 85.17.60.96 +port 27045 +maxplayers 26
+map de_dust2_noads
server4 23167 0.0 7.4 172120 155292 pts/1 SApr11 0:15
./hlds_amd -game cstrike -noipx +ip 85.17.60.96 +port 27045 +maxplayers 26
+map de_dust2_noads

Cheers,

Saint K

Re: [hlds_linux] Question

2007-04-12 Thread Saint K.

IPX/SPX is a protocol like TCP/IP. This protocol is not used over the
internet, so thats why i disabled it.

the _noads maps are simply copies of the normal maps found in your server
dir, with _noads written behind them. This prevents the ad loading @
clients.
