[hlds_linux] sourcetv causing server side fps issues

2008-12-30 Thread bob dolet
Whenever sourcetv is enabled on a tf2 srcds instance extreme server side fps
dips occur. This happens regardless of fps settings in the server.cfg and
with as little as 0 players on the server. Running the 2.6.26.6 kernel with
RT patch on debian lenny and setting the srcds process to realtime priority
fps remain extremely stable without sourcetv enabled. This issue seems to
have a noticeable impact on gameplay.

And it's still occurring

It appears the more slots a server holds, the more often they experience the

We're still experiencing this highly annoying issue.

Any ETA on the fix yet?

Maybe you should try a -verify_all.

If this doesn't work you could try to download the complete hlds_l again
into another folder and do a cp -r -u -v -f newhlds oldhlds and see if
 some files were updated.

Hi,

The problem is still occuring. With fresh installed HLDS (CS 1.6) no
mods, just a clean clan server installation.

2008-12-30 Thread Peter Lindblom
Have anyone tryed with just one server on the servermachine ?

And while it accurs checking what is using the cpu with top or some
similar way..

Starting the warserver without sourcetv is a good way .. sourcetv have been
using much more then it should ..

 Hello,

Spoke too soon, well done Alfred seems to be resolved.

Was explaining to the other's that you cant really ask for much when:

 A. We dont pay anything for Steam Support
 B. Xmas Holidays

Hope the valve crew enjoyed theirs as much as we did :-p

Re: [hlds_linux] timeouts at map change

2008-12-30 Thread blissend
Seems I'm experiencing a huge amount of time outs today too. Oddly on the
same server another game running with lots of mods isn't experiencing it.
Both are up to date tf2 32 player east coast.
