nope, same kernel since i started. Only thing that's changed is the tf2 updates, and I'd just watch as each update bumped up the cpu usage % and whimper. hahaha On Sat, Mar 21, 2009 at 11:24 PM, Cc2iscooL wrote: > I haven't noticed any real degradation in processor usage over the past few > updates. Yep. They've only been manually de-listing servers. On Sat, Mar 21, 2009 at 2:12 PM, DontWannaName! wrote: > They havent implemented their code yet. I haven't noticed any real degradation in processor usage over the past few updates. It seems to be where it's been for a long time, but I am running Windows. [hlds_linux] TF2 Server Performance Getting Ridiculous
With these latest updates, I can barely run a 32 player server anymore, core usage according to top is 95% when full. My 24 man server is starting to average around 80% core usage when full. It seemed just a few weeks ago that the 32 man server would top out at 75%, and the 24 at 65%, each able to get good fps at those loads. At 95%, the server fps hangs around 30. Yuck. This is a Q9400 system :( If things keep going the way they are with a few more updates, 32 player tf2 servers on most machines are going to be unplayable, and 24 man servers will start to get jittery. -- >From Ben B. ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
Re: [hlds_linux] Problems with updates on Server start...
Thank you, Kaspars! I had been using a normal cron in the past just to restart the server every day at 1PM GMT (Least likely time people would be on the server). This gives me a new way of scheduling restarts to check for updates. Many thanks! ~Ash-Fox Kaspars wrote: > first of all, copy srcds_run to srcds_run2 and then edit the file and set > STEAM="" > > then make a script with the following content: > #!/bin/sh > cd /opt/SRCDS_tf2 > ../steam -command update -game tf -dir /opt/SRCDS_tf2 > > edit the paths for your installation and save it as > /opt/SRCDS_tf2/run_update > > then edit crontab and add this line: > 0 * * * * /opt/SRCDS_tf2/run_update >>/opt/SRCDS_tf2/update.log 2>&1 > > this will execute update script every hour... > > your server still needs to be started with -autoupdate flag, so it can > utilize MasterRequestRestart message and restart the server on changelevel > to update to take effect > > ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux

Could you do anything about the servers which are still using a sv_tags blocker?
