Re: [hlds_linux] [L4D2] strange steam group servers

2009-12-18 Thread Eric Riemers
Nope,

But i had 600+ or so in my list, i cant/wont believe they abuse our
steamgroup id that much.. next day it was back to normal though.

Also dont forget if you joined say the official l4d2/l4d/tf2/etc groups from
valve itself, there are people that set there servers groupid to those (burn
them!)

Eric

Re: [hlds_linux] Team Fortress 2 Update Available

2009-12-18 Thread Andy Wallace
Ok updates have been applied both server and client side, but after working
fine until 10 minutes ago (19:00 gmt) the server is crashing out on a looping
seg fault.

./srcds_run: line 335: 4817 Segmentation Fault  $HL_CMD

I've run the debug option and nothing in the log file points to any specific
problem.  I blame the genius idea of running two class upgrades at the same
time as hosting a free weekend.  Good one!

If anyone else is having this problem or knows how to fix it, please let me
know :)

[hlds_linux] TF2 the server you are playing on has lost connection to steam

2009-12-18 Thread Oliver Salzburg
I really fail to understand the cause of this message.
I run two TF2 servers on 2 different machines.
On one server I get the above error message when trying to access my
loadout,
on the other I don't.
Restarting the server where the problem occurs does not fix the problem.

Re: [hlds_linux] Team Fortress 2 Update Available

2009-12-18 Thread Andy Wallace
Yeah we tried that old chestnut just a little while ago.  According to my
sources the gamedata file update works to a degree but still crashes out after
a few maps.  Apparently valve will be releasing another update tomorrow morning
to counter this problem.

Anyway our regular server is still crashing out after just a few minutes so
we're now removing a few minor buggy plugins that feature once or twice in the
error logs.

My servers have the same problem. I tried added a bunch of master servers
using setmaster but that has no effect. I think the system is down at the
 moment.

I really fail to understand the cause of this message.
I run two TF2 servers on 2 different machines.
On one server I get the above error message when trying to access my
  loadout,
  on the other I don't.
Restarting the server where the problem occurs does not fix the problem.

Well on my other server everything works fine.
This seems almost random.

Re: [hlds_linux] Auto-Update Inquiry/Suggestion

2009-12-18 Thread Nathan D.
When the L4D 2 update was released tonight, I changed maps but this did
not update the server. I then immediately exited the server and when it
restarted, it was up to date. So apparently, even if a map change does
sometimes update the server, it's definitely not the quickest and most
assuring method.

So, we still need some sort of script, or preferably an update to
-autoupdate that will:

1.) Detect when an update is available
2.) Wait for the server to become empty OR wait X amount of time before
exiting - whichever comes first.
3.) Exit the server so that it can update and restart.

This would obviously keep a large amount of dedicated servers more
up-to-date and available to play on.

Cordially,

-Nate
