Re: [hlds_linux] Lobby settings ignored
No and yes A map _MUST_ be loaded for the server to go live. However, the startup script will ensure one is run if you don't. (By contrast, the startup script for TF2 will merely warn you) Personally, I set a load-on-server-start map in the autoexec.cfg file instead, but it has the same effect. And yeah, as someone said, check sourcemod. > -Original Message- > From: hlds_linux-boun...@list.valvesoftware.com [mailto:hlds_linux- > boun...@list.valvesoftware.com] On Behalf Of Martin Kolb > Sent: 30 May 2010 19:19 > To: Half-Life dedicated Linux server mailing list > Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] Lobby settings ignored > > I think it's optional, it's a cvar in the end. > > 2010/5/30 Ross Bemrose > > > I'm pretty sure you have to on Source servers. > > > > I do on my L4D2 server, but it changes maps to whichever map (most > > likely the first level of a campaign) that the lobby selects when > they > > join. > > > > But that's my problem, when players join my server, Dead Center 1 gets > loaded :( > > > > > On 5/30/2010 2:07 PM, Cc2iscooL wrote: > > > I don't think you're supposed to put a map in the command line. > > > > > > On May 30, 2010 1:02 PM, "Martin Kolb" wrote: > > > > > > It's a L4D2 Linux server, forgot to mention that :) > > > > > > 2010/5/30 Martin Kolb > > > > > > > > > > > >> Hi, > > >> > > >> my server always loads the startup map when players are joining, > which > > >> means, that any ... > > >> > > > ___ > > > To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list > archives, > > please visit: > > > http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux > > > > > > > > > ___ > > To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list > archives, > > please visit: > > http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux > > > ___ > To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, > please visit: > http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux

Re: [hlds_linux] Lobby settings ignored
It's something due to plugins you have. Seen this before on servers where i've played. They force some crap default settings on the servers. This has never happened to vanilla servers which have no plugins. -ics 30.5.2010 20:54, Martin Kolb kirjoitti: > Hi, > > my server always loads the startup map when players are joining, which > means, that any settings defined in the lobby are ignored.I > I think that it probably crashes when someone joins and loads per default > the map it got by parameter at startup. I think it's optional, it's a cvar in the end. 2010/5/30 Ross Bemrose > I'm pretty sure you have to on Source servers. > > I do on my L4D2 server, but it changes maps to whichever map (most > likely the first level of a campaign) that the lobby selects when they > join. > But that's my problem, when players join my server, Dead Center 1 gets loaded :( > > On 5/30/2010 2:07 PM, Cc2iscooL wrote: > > I don't think you're supposed to put a map in the command line. > > > > On May 30, 2010 1:02 PM, "Martin Kolb" wrote: > > > > It's a L4D2 Linux server, forgot to mention that :) > > > > 2010/5/30 Martin Kolb > > > > > > > >> Hi, > >> > >> my server always loads the startup map when players are joining, which > >> means, that any ... > >> > > ___ > > To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, > please visit: > > http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux > > > > > ___ > To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, > please visit: > http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux > ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
Re: [hlds_linux] Lobby settings ignored
Sorry, just saw that I don't use the parameter anymore. Anyway it loads always the first Dead Center map. 2010/5/30 Cc2iscooL > I don't think you're supposed to put a map in the command line. > > On May 30, 2010 1:02 PM, "Martin Kolb" wrote: > > It's a L4D2 Linux server, forgot to mention that :) > > 2010/5/30 Martin Kolb > > > > Hi, > > > > my server always loads the startup map when players are joining, which > > means, that any ... > ___ > To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, > please visit: > http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux > ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
Re: [hlds_linux] Lobby settings ignored
I'm pretty sure you have to on Source servers. I do on my L4D2 server, but it changes maps to whichever map (most likely the first level of a campaign) that the lobby selects when they join. I don't think you're supposed to put a map in the command line. [hlds_linux] Lobby settings ignored
Hi, my server always loads the startup map when players are joining, which means, that any settings defined in the lobby are ignored.I I think that it probably crashes when someone joins and loads per default the map it got by parameter at startup. But I couldn't find something relevant in the logs. I can't tell if everybody who joins my server experiences the same, I connect to the server by search key. Did anyone experience the same? Currently there is SourceMod 1.8.1 and MetaMod 1.3.2 installed.
