2011-11-21 Thread clad iron
I sent this to you tony, but i just wanted to add it here so others could
see the issue i had and maybe it will help someone else.

683 works now. In the token for 683, there is a "0" (zero) and a letter

If you think about it a bit, only difference is that you connect to
particular server after search alone and not with 3 friends together.
The servers location, what map it runs or should run is measured and
thus used. Matchmaking as a word is not the best selection but it comes
from matching players with servers (l5d's, tf2) or players with same
level of skill players (cs:go)

Clad,

It appears you were using a zero in place of a capital 'O' for one of the
characters in your identity token. I'd recommend copy and pasting rather than
typing it on your own. See your email for more details.

Is there a game that doesn't have dedicated servers support from Valve ? As
far as I know, not yet :)

Why can't Valve just give a simple QA if there will be dedicated servers for
the community and if yes, what will be the difference between the free
dedicated servers and the valve own hosted matchmaking system.

Yes i know HPE is behind the game and Valve is only producing and
supervising mainly but they will run the servers as they have those
already in place.

Afaik HPE did some sort of css port to xbox360 and thats where they
started with this new game idea. CSS was just a small step towards that
and as soon as they got the hint, it was ditched right again. I guess we
should ditch it too.

Is there a game that doesn't have dedicated servers support from Valve ? As

Re: [hlds_linux] Global Offensive Dedicated

2011-11-21 Thread Roberto Omezzolli

Why can't Valve just give a simple QA if there will be dedicated servers for
the community and if yes, what will be the difference between the free
dedicated servers and the valve own hosted matchmaking system.

Yes i know HPE is behind the game and Valve is only producing and
supervising mainly but they will run the servers as they have those
already in place.

Afaik HPE did some sort of css port to xbox360 and thats where they
started with this new game idea. CSS was just a small step towards that
and as soon as they got the hint, it was ditched right again. I guess we
should ditch it too.
