Re: [hlds_linux] [hlds] Cpu usage overboard?

2013-08-05 Thread ics
You posted to windows list but i added a copy to the hlds_linux list too
which might have more people that could help you. I remember someone
having similiar issue but i cannot remember solution that he got.

But do you force those processes to a single core? If you do, don't.

I have a Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU L5520 @ 2.27GHz, 16 cores
24 Gigs of ram

Only 4 Tf2 installations and usually only one is active.
One of the servers up right now is over over 100% of the cpu in Htop ,

In Netgraph the SV and VAR settings fluxuate, SV idles at 66 (normal I

I'm not sure what all to try to fix this, sometimes it's fine then
others it's almost unplayable. I have also updated the linux kernel to
run at 1000hz so I've ruled that out. Any ideas for me here?

Re: [hlds_linux] CSS dedicated server with GRE tunnel?

2013-08-05 Thread Robin

Here's a packet dump on the GRE interface: http://puu.sh/3UuZk
It's a .cap file, when the UDP length is 16 thats when my connection is
stuck at "Sending Client Info..." http://puu.sh/3SNLH

My IP-address starts with 46.

I don't really know what kind of information you need, so if you could tell
me I can see what I can gather up.

yeah, the official ones are ok, its a number of others out there that do
not

obfuscate the accounts used, instead only replace the "@' for " " or
w/e which is also automatically read (even easier to find for the
crawlers,

for its a lot more specific). the only way to really obfuscate is removing
part of the account name and replace it by dots or remove the email
addresses completely. Failing to do that, such should not be exposed to
the

webs.

Thinking of this, the mail list should do this imo. I see no added
benefits

for keeping the full mail addresses in the responses send by its list
members.

Back to the "helpdesk" software, it has imo no bearing on the list, and
shouldn't even be connected to it.
If clients respond in mail to them, that shouldn't make it list member :S
So

I don't see how it can be "accidental"

This stuff happens when help desk software gets added to the list,
there have been a few occasions of it over the years and it's
generally resolved quickly. It's got nothing to do with the archives
(of which the official one isn't "fully public" fwiw).

Re: [hlds_linux] TriggerBot/Prediction hack(Crit hack/No spread) detection plugin

2013-08-05 Thread AnAkIn
For the few still using it on this mailing list, just letting you know I
released the update.
Changelog:
- Fixed crash when trying to reload the plugin after it has been auto
updated
- Added a banlist system. Cheaters using prediction hacks and
anti-speedhack bypass hacks will be automatically banned if
aac_prediction_ban and aac_speedhackbypass_ban are set to 1 (default).
aac_banmethod 0 uses the local banlist, aac_banmethod 1 uses SourceBans.
For the local banlist, the banned cheaters can be seen with aac_showbans,
or by opening the aac_banned.txt file in the tf directory.
You can also remove a ban with the aac_removeban command.
- Improved autoshoot detections, they should now be more precise
- Added invalid viewangles detections (still experimental, will only log
for now)
- Added aac_logname to change the logfile’s name, useful when running
multiple servers from a same directory.

Why the F is this connected to the hlds_linux :S

I got another mail from them with my "registration" information for their
"site"...
looked at the whois of teamspeak.com and teamspeakusa.com and these where
different so I assume they are not the real ones.

Its annoying enough that all the mails get on some archive(s) with all the
email address fully public so you get spammed to death due to that. Should
be some privacy laws broken there. I don't mind archives, but don't put the
mail addresses public so any crawler can read them.

Re: [hlds_linux] CSS dedicated server with GRE tunnel?

2013-08-05 Thread Robin
I've contacted the support and they says that I should mention that this is
a GRE tunnel with DNAT.

I don't know if that matters?

GRE Tunneling does work with srcds. This is most likely a configuration
error somewhere.

Hello,
I am paying for DDoS protection and to use it I need to use a GRE/IPIP
tunnel.
I’ve setup everything correctly, but my connection to my gameserver gets
stuck at “Sending Client Info...”.

I can successfully connect to my other services.
So is this even possible with these kind of gameservers? Or have Valve
blocked the usage of this?

If this should work, some help would be kind.
Sincerely Empyrian

Re: [hlds_linux] CSS dedicated server with GRE tunnel?

2013-08-05 Thread Robin

The tunnel starts on system boot (/etc/rc.local)
GRE tunnel interface is on 10.0.0.26 - http://puu.sh/3UgMW.png
I'm starting the gameserver with +ip 10.0.0.26
I open up the screen session and I can see that the server shows the correct
public IP-address.

have you set the "external" IP in the server to the new IP?

maybe also a rundown on what you actually did...
