Re: [hlds_linux] L4D Server Files

2014-05-19 Thread Stephan Vandenborn

Hello,

Is there any news on the horizon concerning sourcemod no longer working
on some linux build ?

When I type "meta status" it says the sourcemod plugin is "failed" and
you can't load the plugin manually because of "undefined symbol in cpu
specs.

thx

Hey Kerry,

This is very good news - thank you!
Tried to get our L4D groupserver back up for hours after the game
update and really was afraid to never play on it again..

Then I found your message and now it's smoothly working again.
I'm really glad about the ongoing L4D1 Linux-DS support by Valve.
There are still those old-fashioned people sticking to the orignial

Hello guys,
I'm trying to install L4D from SteamCmd, but it's not working...
After searching around the web, I found out that it's impossible to
download files thru there.
Does anyone here has a link to download L4D Linux Server Files? I'm
really needing it, and would be very thankful.

Thanks in advance!

[hlds_linux] L4D bug: Problem with % character in RCON password

2014-05-19 Thread David Parker
Hello,

I'm running an L4D server with 4 forks on Debian 7 (64-bit), installed
yesterday via SteamCMD. I think there's a bug in the code for the RCON
password, because I just discovered that it doesn't handle the "%"
character correctly. It apparently gets doubled, so a literal "%" becomes
"%%", a literal "%%" becomes "", etc.

Passwords without "%" work fine, even if they have other special
characters. I even tried backslash-escaping the "%" but it didn't make a
difference. Here are some examples pasted from the console:

rcon_password mySecretPassword
rcon_password
"rcon_password" = "mySecretPassword" ( def. "" )
 - remote console password.

rcon_password my$Secret#Password!
rcon_password
"rcon_password" = "my$Secret#Password!" ( def. "" )
 - remote console password.

rcon_password my%Secret#Password!"
rcon_password
"rcon_password" = "my%%Secret#Password!"" ( def. "" )
 - remote console password.

rcon_password my%Secret%%Password!
rcon_password
"rcon_password" = "my%%SecretPassword!" ( def. "" )
 - remote console password.

rcon_password my\%Secret#Password!
rcon_password
"rcon_password" = "my\%%Secret#Password!" ( def. "" )
 - remote console password.

When I enter the "rcon_password" commands on the forked server's
netconsole, I get the output above. However, on the real console of the
main server, I see the correct values:

#01:"rcon_password" = "mySecretPassword"
#01: ( def. "" )

#01:"rcon_password" = "my$Secret#Password!"
#01: ( def. "" )

#01:"rcon_password" = "my%Secret#Password!""
#01: ( def. "" )

#01:"rcon_password" = "my%Secret%%Password!"
#01: ( def. "" )

#01:"rcon_password" = "my\%Secret#Password!"
#01: ( def. "" )

Regardless of password I use (with or without the doubled "%"), I can't
connect to the server via RCON if the password contains this character.
I'm pretty sure this is a recent change, because my old RCON password had
the "%" in it and it worked fine. Also, this doesn't seem to happen on any
of my servers for other games.

Yes if you've been playing so much with sourcemod enabled, It's like
having unsafe sex if it's gone, because of all the engine fixes/ai
improvements and preventive admin control that you have with SM enabled.
I really hope they just don't abandon it because it's "an old game".

[hlds_linux] Optional updates released for TF2, CS:S, DoD:S, and HL2:DM

2014-05-19 Thread Eric Smith
We've released updates for TF2, CS:S, DoD:S, and HL2:DM that fix a case where
some clients/servers were crashing during map load. This is not a required
update for dedicated servers, but if you think you're having a problem during
map load you should download the update.

Re: [hlds_linux] Lost almost every player usings v_setsteamaccount

2014-05-19 Thread Nikooo777
Unfortunately this does not seem to be the reason.
The server was restarted several times and this is the output of "status":

23:29:22 hostname: Zombie Hunting V2 by ElitE HunterZ |FastDL, SSD powered,
HLstatsX|
 version : 2230303/24 2230303 secure
 udp/ip : 37.187.142.159:27075 (public ip: 37.187.142.159)
 steamid : [G-1:3811] (85568392920043235)
 map : zm_cbble_eh_v7 at: 0 x, 0 y, 0 z
 players : 16 humans, 0 bots (64 max)

this indicates that the server is correctly connected, however 3/4 of my
friendlist report the server to be missing from the favorites (Not the
gameservers list).
It's completely gone, and after 4 years of hard work in building its
user-base I am shocked to see this happen.
I hope somebody with the right accesses sees this message and finds a fix to
this issue.
It's very worrying because as we know, counter-strike: source is a game that
is dying, no new server stands a chance of surviving and/or getting
populated, therefore the remaining ones are populated by those that saved
the server in the past years.
We would hate to close another one of our servers as we just had to close 1
out of 5 (64 slots servers) due to clients drop in the last year.

Please somebody have a look at this issue,
If you need anything I'm here.

Thank you

Type status on server and check steam connection status.

I have also recently moved servers. Some of them lose connection to steam
server and log out of persistent steam id.
Restarting the server fixes the issue but these disconnects are very
annoying. Players cannot see the server in their steam server browsers when
this happens.
