Re: [hlds_linux] Left 4 Dead 2 server beta available
HUGE improvement in on-disk storage; thanks! Add "-beta beta" to your SteamCMD command line to get the beta. This is the updated build that will be released to clients next week, so it is NOT interoperable with the current public client. Due to updated build scripts and a regeneration of the vpk's, this depot will be about 2GB smaller than the pre-SteamPipe version. - Kerry ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: https://list.valvesoftware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: https://list.valvesoftware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
Re: [hlds_linux] Left 4 Dead 2 Servers updated to SteamPipe
Two things: 1) The steamcmd version appears to take significantly more disk space. Probably intentional, but I feel like I should mention it. 2) This is really not a good "out of disk space error": App state (0x300502) downloading, progress: 91.46 (14168580356 / 15491725407) Error! App '222860' state is 0x602 after update job. quit --Kyle On 6/26/2013 12:09 PM, Kerry Davis wrote: Hello! We have converted Left 4 Dead 2 to be delivered through SteamPipe. Next Monday (July 1) servers downloaded with the HLDSUpdateTool will no longer be compatible. Only the server obtained using SteamCMD will work. The server is currently available for download; we encourage all server operators to download and install the server now if you haven't already. The server is interoperable with the current public Left 4 Dead 2 client. The AppID for the SteamPipe version of the server is 222860.
