And the confusion of client side FPS with server side FPS, could this
discussion get any better?

But it is absolutely true, when most client computers can only manage 50
to 200 fps, depending on the situation, 1000 fps sounds extremely
impressive, and when something sounds impressive, the brain is more than
capable of imagining the performance matches the impression.

Had problems on Opteron and Athlon XP/MP. Working fine on a xeon machine.

Guess I'll have to wait a bit longer !

Should have tried this earlier. Cheers

I am getting exact this on my AMD (TB) based box.
After a while i tried it on Intel (P4) (both centos) and it works there.

Does anyone got a solution for this or just did not have these problems
with AMD? (in my case old type TB 1700+ core)

2007-09-21 Thread Ryan Gurney
Drek,

Can utilise an existing install.. however this is mine with just a plain
update of tf (with base hl2 files).

[20:03:16 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:[~]# du -h --max-depth=1
304K./.steam
1.8G./srcds

Hope this helps,

I'm working with limited drive space. Wondering how much space TF2
requires? Does it require a full HL2 base install on it's own, or can
you install it into a base HL2 directory with other mods the way you can
with HL1 mods?

Thanks, Drek

Getting the exact same error (all the same 'bad data' errors). I have a
feeling some of the files I have are still encrypted, even though steam
update has completed?

Some information that might come in handy for working out whats going on is
also included.
