alot of players are epically pissed off already about the item drop
system remove the ability to get unlocks while idle and its angry mobs
with pitchforks and torches time.

the system was good in theory and purpose but failed horribly in implementation.

valve loves to release things incrementally but this system NEVER
should have seen the light of day untill ALL of its planned features
were finished.

let alone the fact the system still seems bugged many people playing
for hours some days and not getting any new items or only getting old
items.

just look at how many servers are running achievement_idle and other
idle achievement maps that are FULL to see how broken the system is.

on a personal sad note at the rate of witch i get items unless i were
to use a achievement_idle server i will NEVER be able to try any of
the new items unless i dedicate my life to playing TF2.

a fun test of how crazy the it has gotten setup a achievement_idle
server and see how long before the server gets full, last night i did
it as a test the entire server filled up within 1 damn minute of
launching the server. D:

ALOT of ppl still use 56k i only know 1 person that has broadband, it cost's
a arm and leg even then you cant get it in most area's. oh and DOD? i tryed
playing it and the higher your ping the less you can hit trust me i aim good
and nothing ever hits.

 VAC does the best it can.  CD works, but to many people won't use it.  UGS

 the entire enemy team to prove that a non-cheating player might see
 something shimmer like the predator, but would not see me clearly and

 for all basic purpose..i was invisible completely.

 So I knifed the entire team, even goofing around standing among several of
 the opposite team.  Players realized there was no way for me to look
 normal to the player Pulse, and realized he in fact was cheating.

 Now, this works great UNLESS, someone out there knows how a non-cheating
 client would see someone invisible as if he was visible.   Otherwise it
 works great for me, since their is no echo of the admin running the

ripent tool that came with zoner's custom build of the hl compile tools it
extract's all the entity info into a txt file and you can edit it then use
the tool in reinsert it with the stuff you added or edited also ripent edited
map can be passed around easy and the server admins dont need to use any 3rd
part plugins to use it.

when adding banners i like to make a banner model and put it on a wall it
looks like a part of the map itself.

also a little help with ripent you can decompile the map then add/remove items
in it then look at the .map and extract the entity from it

ripent is a fun thing to mess with for example i converted de_dust to a DOD
bombing map

i know about screen its ok. as for servers i use halfd
my question is general i remember there was a a way to run a program in the
backround that had to do with $ that would later let me close the console.
i know of the screen method but im just trying to remember the other method i
learned.
