RE: [hlds_linux] [ot] Call it Admins pain

2002-11-01 Thread Taber, Douglas R.
You have to remember that with the American educational system, most of
these kids that play CS CAN'T read the MOTD. Most of them quickly click
through it so they can start Tking teammates as soon as humanly
possibly.

[rant warning]

First off, what the hell, I'm playing in my server... with a couple
friends who are local on my lan. a couple people come in from the
internet.. I'm thinking, ok, cool competition... what do i hear?

lamer: d00d, he hax!!! HAX!!! HAX!!!

so, as typical admin duty, load up hltv (with a random nick), and watch
from a different computer... I'm watching, and thinking, ok, maybe...
and then i see some shots, kills, etc, that are so reminicant of a hack.
*boot*

Alrighty, cool. solved the problem.

NOPE!!! The guy comes back and then goes d00d, $nick hax!!!, well,
this guy who he's crying about, is my *admin* friend on the same server,
and who's 2 feet from me. I can see his computer, I set up his
computer.. that computer never leaves the store.

So, i nicely godmode myself, and tell him to cool the fuck down. I then
proceed to inform him that he's right next to me, on the lan. if he
didnt belive me, LOOK AT THE FN PINGS!!! I mean, a 13 ping?!?! with
mine being a 12? DUH I wonder where this guy is.

ARE PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD TOO STUPID TO READ THE MOTD? ARE PEOPLE SO
MORONIC TO NOT SEE HOW NICE IM BEING?!? I MEAN, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

I almost wanted to find out where he is, and like, drive out there and
smack him... (not really, but still..)

I swear, there needs to be a line in the cstrike TOS/EULA/whatever that
says.

Forfeture of CD KEY:

If too many admins complain about you being a lamer and a cry baby, we
reserve the right to revoke your multiplayer abilities

UGH!!!

...

sorry, thanks for listening. I just *had* to get that off my chest.

RE: [hlds_linux] Anyone come across this before??

2002-10-29 Thread Taber, Douglas R.
I believe this came up once before, it has to do with plugins trying to
change settings in your server config file. I'm not sure if that was the
final problem, but it seems smiliar to what was discussed.

Hi all,

My Ag hlds server has started doing something a little wierd.

Once a second it generates this message in the console:

L 10/30/2002 - 16:44:25: [ADMIN] (exec) What, changing file_access_?
Playing with yourself again? STOP THAT!

I have no idea whats causing it. Anyone got any suggestions. Any help
much appriciated

mentasm.
