No, there's definitely a new exploit to gain ALL the achievements.  I know 
because someone came into a server I was on and told everyone how to do this.  
Thinking this was bogus, I tried it and BOOM!  I was 56/56.

More than just that, some of the medics were able to go around with a solo uber 
that seemed to last forever.  After about 5 mins of this, the full 32 man 
server emptied in a heartbeat.

I've filed a support ticket on the steampowered site, but I'm not sure that was 
the correct place to bring attention to this bug.  If someone from valve reads 
this, could you forward to the correct department?

 I guess you could say wtf, but I'm not real sure what the problem you
 have with people getting the unlocks. I earned them after playing for 
 a couple hours.  I did not do anything unfair, or exploit any game feature.
 
 There are 3 levels of upgrades, the first is after getting 12 achievements.
 Since getting the first level upgrade I have only managed to complete 8 more
 of the achievements.  The remaining ones are the ones that will take a 
 great deal of time to get, they are the ones where you have to do things 
 hundreds of times or uber someone and have them kill or destroy a certain 
 number of items.
 
 I think valve did good with these, there are a lot more medics than usual
 but I'm actually having more fun.  The new guns pretty cool too.

I only know how to do this for a subnet.  I've tried (to no avail) to get
this to work from one net to another but it failed.

iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p udp --dport 27015 -i eth0 -j DNAT --to
x.x.x.x:27015

Where x.x.x.x is the IP address of a machine on your subnet.

Hi all,

Due to the lack of 64 bit support from Valve I've decided to buy/build a
new server based on 32 bit hardware and a 32 bit OS.

Now I did manage to get the new colo in the same rack as the old server,
but offcourse I cannot share the IP on 2 machines :)

Is there any way to redirect the old IP + port to the new IP + port? I
tried using redir but that only forwards TCP and not UDP, and knowing
that HLDS uses TCP and UDP it didn't work...

Hope someone can help me out.

I found that disabling hlguard allows the users to connect on my server.
Not sure if that's the case with everyone.  I've seen on the forums where
people have disabled amxx and such with positive results.

Now, let's see how long I can stay connected.

hey guys.

just migrated my comp to linux. Well actually I'm dual booting but only
because i love PC gaming too much :). I have a srcds server and when i'm in
windows i use hlsw to make sure everything is cool. Is there a linux
equivalent? I ask this because i am slowing spending more and more time in
SuSE 10.1. which is quite a testiment to linux especially as i have had
only
minimal hardware problems (damn windows hardware contracts :( ).

anyway i hope you guys are as helpful as the people in the windows list.
and
maybe one day i'll migrate my server to linux too.

I'm still getting the following error during the startup process:

net.cpp (896) : Assertion Failed: 0 == iRet
net.cpp (899) : Assertion Failed: 0 == iRet

I don't know if it can cause problems. It looks like the server is running
fine. This error is already an old one. It has been in a few releases now,
but so far hasn't caused problems. I'm running FreeBSD 4.11-STABLE. Anyone
else having this error on other releases? As far as i can tell by googling,
it looks like a FreeBSD-only problem.

I have been advised by Alfred to delete ClientRegistry.blob which i have
saddly the same problem.
I have linux_base-suse-9.2 installed i have tried just linux_base also.
The server it's self is tip top no other applications give problems.
I have tried complete fresh start etc all with  no it has yet to make it
through the first main update with out core dumping tho in the end it
will finish but then when i start it i get update errors.
This is a dual p3 machine with tyan server board and smp kernel.

Shouldn't have to re-install.  I ran the server manually and ran setmaster.
It still listed that bad server so I manually removed it.  sv_region was set
to 0.
I think when you're running hlsw, its reporting back some text info
regarding how to set sv_region.
I don't have any way of checking the server from where I'm at, but can you
run the setmaster command and see what it reports?  I restarted the server,
since I don't want to be running it from the command line.
If 207.173.177.11 is listed, you can remove it with setmaster remove
207.173.177.11
