Re: [hlds_linux] Spammers delight
Learn how mailing lists work before saying such stuff. Mailing lists are nice and anyone with a half-decent client can easily filter out the spam. (What is an X-BeenThere header? ;-)) Also it's good that Valve hasn't shifted their dedicated server "support" onto the steamcommunuty discussions, there would be even more stupid "how do I run server oh god I'm too stupid to use google" questions. Re: [hlds_linux] Newly installed srcds installations fail on first startup
It's sometimes created badly too. Has weird symbols in it sometimes after initial creation (usually a "^@" or something). [hlds_linux] CreateFragmentsFromFile: 'downloads/c12cc55b.dat' doesn't exist.
Hi, I get this message whenever someone connects to my TF2 Steampipe server. I assume that's the default spray texture, judging by Google. Is it possible to have you guys ship this file in the official vpks, so this particular error message won't happen as frequently? Just a bit of an OCD thing looking at my server console. Re: [hlds_linux] L4D2 Update Released
I get this on launch, and no one seems to be joining my server (but the second part probably is because "official dedicated" is STILL the default option for server-finding instead of unmodded third-party dedicated servers. pretty lame in my opinion). >dlopen failed trying to load: >/home/srcds/.steam/bin32/steamclient.sowith error: >/home/srcds/.steam/bin32/steamclient.so: cannot open shared object file: No >such file or directory On Thu, Jan 17, 2013 at 10:36 PM, Scipizoa wrote: > is anyone having trouble with their servers after the updates, like > crashing or anything ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: https://list.valvesoftware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
[hlds_linux] L4D2 Update Released
No one sends out these emails anymore for L4D2 but yeah. Update is out, go grab it. ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: https://list.valvesoftware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux

Re: [hlds_linux] motd.txt URL not working for CS:S
Yes, it happens to everyone that joins (according to my reports and httpd's access.log). On Sun, Jan 13, 2013 at 10:47 PM, Nomaan Ahmad wrote: > Maybe this happens on your client only? [hlds_linux] motd.txt URL not working for CS:S
Having a full site URL in my motdfile (or motd.txt) on CS:S does not work. When connecting, even if HTML motds are enabled, the motd window is just blank orange - as if the game tries to load nothing. It works fine in all other games other than CS:S. How do I fix this? Copying the site's HTML into my motd.txt is not an option. The only thing we want is that our players are happy and when they > are so please do not tell us we are "bullshit", because we work very hard > for this. If you want your players happy, why do you do fake-clients? (Most) people only play on your servers because they don't know any better. They don't realize you are being evil. They think they are playing with real people. You are a liar to them. "Working hard", more like spamming the masterserver with faked numbers, masqueraded bots, and other nonsense. You fail to provide a quality gaming experience for your users. Problems like what you do is why 1.6 is so dead, and soon your actions will make Source dead. I have over 5 servers across the globe and never get the problem for months now, and most of my servers are full 24/7. Then again, I use no mods at all. Uninstall all your mods on your servers and you will probably stop getting those issues, or at least a lot less frequently. > "People are playing on our servers because we appear at the top if you > sort by player count, so our servers MUST be awesome! Good > luck! > > Best regards, > Laurenz If you love Valve so much, then why do you try to singlehandedly destroy its game with your fake-clients, server redirects, and pay-2-win bullshit? On topic, your no Steam login issues might also be happening due to your editing of the Steam network stack to give fake-clients. None of my clients have ever had no Steam login in months, except when they crash their client. Remove all your fake-players plugins and you will stop having no Steam login troubles :-) ___ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: https://list.valvesoftware.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/hlds_linux
